Hezbollah retaliates by targeting Israeli military convoy, at least 2 killed

lol , exactly , we both know whats going on , so by down playing it , they are just making a fool outta themselves .

this is so pathetic . 9 vehicles gone and only 2 people killed ? ridiculous

Even if we assume that there was only 1 sewer rat in each vehicle (who must have been driving the vehicle), what about the rest of 7 vehicles?
Were they driving themselves without sewer rat chauffeur?! :D

5 ATGM and IEDs according to Israeli sources..
Debka is crap source which spreads rumors.

So Israel kills 10 top Hizb and Iranian Commanders and Generals. While Hezb and Iran kills 2 low level Israeli Border patrols and wounds 7 more. :coffee: . The tire head turbanators must be in great ecstasy oozing foam out of their mouths of this great achievement.

These guys desperately need some victory after 4 years of beating by Syrian peasants.

:coffee: Yeah, the mullas said this 10 years ago when they threatened us. Now we are gaining more "shia-cresent" areas and the mulla wet dreams are going no where.

“Baghdad cannot do much to kick out the Kurds from any territory they have captured,” says Wladimir van Wilgenburg, analyst on Kurdish politics for the Jamestown Foundation.

Too much crying about the Shia from you, here's the true Sunni friends whom will be the ones you have to deal with.

In other words Israel won't do anything? But if this came from Gaza in same manner(response to targeted killings) it would. Could you explain this.

so no IEDs then ? IEDs would have meant they had advance knowledge of the future convoy movement and that suggests a whole other level of planning to set up such an ambush with so much precision.. but you say Debka is crap, pretty clear the Iranian 'zionists killed' report was crap too.

I'm confused, what are the true figures for vehicles targeted and casualty numbers and what were the weapons employed in the attack then ?

media sucks everywhere, not like your report of "17 zionists killed" is any better than Fox news :P

and I must say its a bit sad to see some Iranian members here rejoicing about the deaths of IDF soldiers, the Israeli members here weren't losing the plot posting smileys about the Iran general, in fact, even the IDF put out a statement saying they were not the target.

anyway, IMO they needlessly stirred a bit of the hornets nest here but I hope it won't escalate further.

are you seriously taking the average now ? it must be (16+4)/2 = 10 ? ? :D

  • air strike in Quneitra on January 18th that killed six Hezbollah fighters and an Iranian general. Both Hezbollah and the Iranian army had vowed revenge, and earlier on Wednesday Iran said that Israel should "await retaliation" for the strike.

A Lebanese army spokesman said the missile was not fired from Lebanese territory, and that the artillery response by Israel was randomly falling on areas along the border, but that no shells had landed on villages with civilians yet.

Shebaa Farms is a small strip of disputed land at the intersection of the Lebanese-Syrian border and the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights.

Schools closed in and around Shebaa, and residents stayed indoors as the shelling continued throughout Wednesday morning.

Residents in neighbouring towns continued life as normal, telling Al Jazeera that they don't feel this will escalate into a full blown war.

"Whatever happens happens, but we're not moving and we're not scared," one resident of Marjayoun, a town a few kilometres from the border with Israeli, said.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu warned: "The IDF is ready to act with force on any front".

In a letter to the UN Security Council, Ron Prosor, Israeli ambassador to the UN, condemned the attack, saying Hezbollah has been "stockpiling" weapons in southern Lebanon in violation of a UN resolution.

"Israel will not accept any attacks on its territory and it will exercise its right to self-defense and take all necessary measures to protect its population."

Al Jazeera's Nisreen el-Shamayleh, who is reporting from Jerusalem, said that while a response was expected from Israel against Hezbollah, an escalation of hostilities was unlikely.

Meawnhile, Lebanese politician Samir Geagea, a member of the March 14 opposed to Hezbollah, said that Hezbollah "doesn't have the right to involve the Lebanese army and government in a battle with Israel."

Walid Jumblatt, another politician considered to be centrist, said the attack will lead to "turbulent" times for Lebanon.

On Friday, Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah is expected to speak on the Quneitra strike.

In 2006, Israel fought a bloody war against Hezbollah that killed more than 1,200 people in Lebanon, mostly civilians, and some 160 Israelis, mostly soldiers.
