What's new

Have you ever read "Imran series"

.
No doubt Imran Series is the best spy fiction series of Urdu language, the characters like Imran( Prince of Dhump) X2
And Gen.Fridi Maj Hameed, Maj Parmood
With Safdar and Julia make the story so interesting to read all in once. I forget the name of Imran's house sheaf???
The joint ventures of three groups was my favorite and I like Ibne Safi pattern more than Mazhar Kaleem, I wish some producer bring it on TV it's gonna be a big hit for sure.

This is how it works, with time and different experiences your interests change. I started reading Imarn series in early teens. After reading lot of them for few years my taste changed and I started reading history novels, tariq ismail sagar, A hamid, razia but, poetry etc. Now its been years since I read any at all :-)

I too had read almost every Islamic history novel by Aslam Rahi and I feel they were the most captivating ones....American fiction could never appeal my aesthetic sense afterwards though I finished my masters in American Literature and Translation Studies ...:sarcastic:

35 years of continuous telepathic Farhad ali taimoor endeavours. It became repetitive and bored in 2000's. Good thing they ended it.

OMG! Good to know, I am not the only oldie here, I guess. I am in my 40's.

The only Imran Series books I remember were from Ibn e Safi--didn't he have 'Ibn e Safi, BA' on his book covers? Mazhar Aleem sounds familiar but I don't recall right now.

And, oh, I too remember Farhad Ali Taimoor now! I even bought a book about how to learn telepathy--inspired by Farhad's exploits. Hey, I was very young (and/or innocent) then ;)

Some 'Dr. Shoniak' teaching method in that book: Light a candle and stare at that to build up 'Yaksooi' (mental concentration). LOL!!!

Oh, I remember reading a series (may be it was part of one of those Urdu 'digests' like 'Suspense Digest) where there was a Hindu deity or spirit called 'Agya Beetal'. That was some amazing stuff--hair-raising terror and suspense. I must have read those in the 70s and into early 80's--before I 'grew up'. Anyone has any idea about that? I have searched and searched but can't find that literature. TIA.

I actually never knew about Ibne Saffi at all until 5 years ago when I read about him on internet that he is the original creator of Imran series. In 90s when I first got introduced to imran series it was predominantly written by two writers "Mazhar Kaleem" and "Safdar Shaheen". Mazhaar Kaleem was considered the best imran series writer in those days.

Mazhar kaleem I also remember beside ibn-e-safi he was the only other writer around back in those days. I think there was a difference in both, Ibn-e-safi had a lot more suspense in his novels and mazhar kaleem had a lot more comedy
