Has the army learned its lesson ? God knows, but it has to, NOW or NEVER

Most changes in courses of a nation's history are gradual, and not precipitous as the popular slogan "now or never" seems to imply. The Army, and the country, got into this position over years and decades of choices, some voluntary and some involuntary. The solution is similarly going to be long and drawn out and not sudden.

That is the lesson in all of this.

The question of the silent majority has already been answered. It is a silent majority that has the case of a major Stockholm syndrome. It now sympathizes with the cause of its captors. And if Talibanization, complete extremism do come.. Pakistanis will willingly accept it. The elite will find ways around it to survive while the rest of us will quietly suffer away. This nation has had it in terms of opportunities for improvement and what is to follow is nothing short of horror. Perhaps , it is in this context that a balkanization of Pakistan may not be a bad idea after all; saving whatever sections are possible from extremist ideals. Because the PA is as such left neutered in this scenario, they need support from the people to do anything; and when there is little of that they will too end up as silent spectators at best and total disarray at worst.

The problem is not with the concept, or artificiality.. it is that an artificial legend was created around it. Yes, Pakistan was created on 14th August or the 27th of Ramadan(and not a reincarnation of some long lost ancient civilization) and yes I do truly believe it was a gift from god. But the narratives being created in order to give it some fake identity are more damaging to its existence and social fabric rather than acknowledge its sub-continent roots.

On one hand you state that this country called Pakistan should be balkanized to save it from extremism and then you state that it is a gift of God. And to prove those people wrong who believe that Pakistan’s was created in 712 AD with Mohammad Bin Qasim’s invasion of Sindh by delving into the history of this country since the earliest times, even before the advent of Islam, angers you even further because you feel that it is more damaging to Pakistan’s existence and social fabric rather than acknowledge its sub-continent roots. Or is it the Indian roots that you are more concerned about as Pakistan along with its known history of over 9000 years, has always remained part of the sub-continent.

However the geography, barring a few aberrations, clearly differentiates between the distinctly separate geographical entities of Pakistan and India. And history clarifies these differences between the two separate political entities even more elaborately. History clearly tells us that these two regions were politically united only during the times of Mauryas, Muslims and British rules out of the 9000 years of known history. Well known scholars state this as a fact.

I fail to understand that when they could maintain separate identities for 8000 years out of the 9000 years of known history, how would it now be more damaging to Pakistan’s existence and social fabric by maintaining separate geographical and political roots.

Are you suggesting that to save this region from Islamic extremism, this gift of God Pakistan should be broken up in pieces so that it could rejoin its roots that you believe are in India. I wonder what would you do when Hindu extremism engulfs India as many believe is likely to happen through RSS sponsored extremist Hindu Modism.

OR is it that your and my objectives of diluting the affects of extremism are the same, though through application of different methodologies.

Of course. That logic can and should be applied to both sides of an argument to keep it focused on the issues and not the personalities.

What does "you people" mean?
Good to see you back here...

.
Well because(I might be up for call for castration for saying this) .. Pakistanis(or Muslims rather) believe too much in the power of "Inshallah" or rather misinterpret the idea. In other words, the idea that god will assist you if you do your effort has changed to god will assist you regardless of you making an effort or not.

Actually if it was only believing the word Insa-allah and not doing much we wouldnt be as screwed up as we are now, in that case we wouldnt do anything neither good not bad. The problem is Pakistani have willingly decided to give their lives in the hands of those who say Inshallah or Mashallah in every sentence. believing they are the righteous ones all knowing people who will take them to heaven with them, guess what those were the worst in the pack.

1. Zarvan, bhai please - logon kay sath narmi ikhtiar karo. Everything is not a matter of life and death, right and wrong, black and white.

2. Liberal dumbos are not always busy chugging Alcohol. Sometimes they say things that need to be thought over. Do not be dismissive like this.

3. Hadith ka mafhoom: 'Watan ki muhabbat Iman mein sey hai'. You can not dismiss geographical context of nationhood. Pakistan is the country of Indus, geographically speaking. No one should need to say anything otherwise. Pakistan exists on the ground, not up in the air. It is no accident that Muslims outnumbered others in this geographical entity. For this fact we need not look to Iqbal or worry about indoctrination. We are here. We are here to stay. That is enough. No need to be insecure and act reactionary.

There is no fake identity as such. Our identity, our social evolution, our baggage , and our destiny does not point east or west. It rests securely on this land. We accept and exhibit influences around us and that is just natural. If some people like to act as Arabs, let them. If some people emphasize our cultural background from our immediate West, I see nothing wrong with that either. We are part of South Asia, but we are open to multiple influences just by the virtue of being in the most diverse part of South Asia.

There is a consistent and determined effort by some (not you) to point at Arab influence as though it is a disease. That it is not. It is only natural just because of circumstances.
Mr in Islam we can have only one Muslim nation as a whole not 57 Muslim nations that is just like tribes and it's haram we have Darul Iman and Darulkufr in Islam
