But are we truly independent? my question also applies to Indians

Wishing all Pakistani members " a very happy Indenpendnve day".

However, it would be poignant to remind everyone that while we sing songs praising the Quaid; we have totally ignored his wishies. For example, Quaid gave us the slogan " Unity, Faith & Discipline", but the entire country is polarized and we have neither unity, nor discipline. Regarding the 'faith', the bigot Zia though we were not Mulsims enough and changed the slogan to " Eeman, Taqva & jehad fi sabil-illah' and wanted all Pakisatnis to adopt the Wahabi maslik. TTP wants to impose Afghan tribal culture values as part of the Sharia whereas TLP wants all Pakistanis to accept their brand of Islam.

In short, all we do is to pay Lip Service to the Founding Fathers but practice the total opposite. Quaid's aspiration about Pakistan as decalred in his first speech to the Legistave Assemb;y of August 11, 1947 has been all but dumped.

The whole day today I’m going to drive around with a massive Pakistan flag on my car. Whole Toronto going to know it’s Pakistan day!

Anyone from Toronto or GTA, there’s 2 Pakistan day events I know of going on. 1 is a outdoor Pakistan day festival in Mississauga. 1 is going to be on Gerard street at night.
