Germans... you mean the green coats... brunswickers right? as for the manpower... well they did have loyalists and natives supporting them?as for william howe etc... yes they didnt give them support... As for "Gentleman Johnny" he was an idiot...whose mistakes cost him the battle....and the germans with their band playing... losing hundreds of men... under col baums command... etc.........among other mistakes.... But France,spain and netherland joined the band wagon only after the battle of saratoga by recognising the new republic (king luis XVI) and sending their united fleets .... tht eventually lead to the british defeat in 1781...

Loyalists did not take up arms though they just refused to rebel against the crown and while natives did take up arms their weapons were not up to par and were usually the spares British could give them. Also the natives did not try to capture land they were just in support roles and in exchange English would not expand colonies west when the rebellion was put down.

Yeah which is why I am saying saratoga would have still been a loss and France and others would have still joined the war.

I doubt that... had it been a competent general... saratoga would have been won by the brits! it wasnt the odds... but sheer stupidity of gentleman jhonny tht cost him the battle... and yes loyalists didnt take part coz of the natives... after seeing them ... they joined the american army....also the rape n killing of a young american girl by some indians played a big role aswell.... who werent even punished....

If Wolfe had been alive Howe and Clinton would have excused themselves and went back to Britain (they both did not want the post and only accepted because no one else would). That would leave Wolfe as commander in chief of British North American forces (if he himself did not excuse himself). So johnny would have still been general at saratoga. Ergo they would have still lost. Wolfe would not have been there anyway.

We had fire works tonight in our city and it was a GREAT show. But tomorrow will be a fun day too with festivals, BBQ, and more fireworks in neighboring cities.

Call me unpatriotic, but you ain't had beer until you tried Victoria Bitter, and it's kind of hard to find American Beer out here.
