This is the problem with democracy, nobody is willing to take one for the country. Loyalty to party and to self, not that they will sell their country, but they sometimes block certain things for no better reasons than, I want election victory so I will make sure you do nothing, and attack you for it.


It's fine in developed countries, they got everything and if they do this it's not like the country would be affected too much. But it is still showing a bit.

But for India this is not good. Congress still has tons of power left even if they lose the election, they will fight the BJP tooth and nail for the next election if they lose. Nothing is off the table.

This is one of the main reasons for my objection in American democracy in China now, for later is a big topic I won't discuss here, but now is definitely bad. In China everyone's padding their own resume, theirs no opposition, the in fighting still happens, but less so, but just because some one may try to ruin your plan doesn't mean they are not doing their own thing, so the people still wins, because something will get done.


Again, I'm not saying they are selling their country, or not having the best for India, but there's other priorities for them that makes somethings seem less important, like rails, weapons, infrastructure, etc.

To be fair, F-16 brings many capabilities that Tejas can't either. And Gripen-NG easily outmatches Tejas, which is why it competed in the medium category competition. But Tejas is still a tremendous little bird for the money. The development cost for Rafale was about 56 billion dollars. The development cost for Tejas, despite India not having any aerospace experience, was a measly 1.2 billion dollars. At about 25 million dollars per plane, it is one of the best value for money, modern lightweight aircraft in the world. No question about it.

So yes, let the trolls show their insecurity by burning here, when their country is looking for third hand scraps from third rate air forces.

Yes it is the Indian military's biggest deal, no doubt about that and one of the world's biggest, but stating it as the biggest in the world as a tender or not doesn't change anything.

PAF is getting J-31 within a few years. Rafale is no match for a 5th generation fighter like J-31. Best for IAF to ditch Rafale, save up, and concentrate on 5th generation fighters like FGFA, which, by the way, is yet to fly.

FGFA is supposed to fly this year, but, given the quadmire Russia is facing with regard to Ukraine, first flight will likely be pushed back quite a bit.

I think French won't be able to sell their jet at all. Even UAE is happy with what it has.

Also there are chances that KSA and UAE might join in with Turkish on their 5th Generation aircraft or even Jordan, Oman, Yemen or any other country with Korea.
