HAL sets up second Tejas production line to produce three aircraft per year

Now that you have others habitually rubbing fair'n lovely on your backside, i guess i will just need to spoon feed you.

2 : The article substance ....
HAL sets up second Tejas production line......
The second line when fully operational can produce three aircraft per year.

Now do point out what's troubling your tiny ego here.... how did i hurt your pride that you are wasting bandwidth as your dear colleague was complaining the other day....
For god sake this is an additional production line..Already they r producing 8 per annum..This will help them to produce 11 per year. The target is 16 per annum..That's why they r looking for 3rd facility..this will help them reach 16-20..but as for now it will be 11 per year..
Also MK1 order is just 20 which is very less.

That is extremely slow, considering the dire and massive need IAF has for getting light single engine fighters. We were talking about a total of 50 aircraft a year till 2025 while HAL is talking about three a year.....

Heavens help the IAF and India's defence.

Setting up modular production lines is important, especially when there is a significant product similarity between the existing product and the proposed/upgraded product down the line. HAL needs to see 10 years down the line rather than what orders IAF has placed, especially now that IAF has been keen to buy over 150 Mk2 jets.

At this rate, HAL will be making Tejas by the time China and Russia would be flying Star Trek level interstellar warships.

MK1 order is very low & that's why production rate is also low..
It will be increased when MK1A comes out with additional line.May be private players will get involved too.

Addition of even a single unit must be appreciated, 3 is a good number though, my question is will any of the additional 3 be able to be airborne, if yes its good if no then did HAL added another production line for the trailers to carry these additional units???

Congrats! 3 planes production capability per year...definitely a massive improvement from 1 plane per decade.

Bengaluru: Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd (HAL) has set up a second line for the series production of Tejas. The new line has come up at Aircraft Division in December 2016, with the facility now being equipped with full-fledged assembly jigs.

Currently Tejas SP-5 is being integrated here, while SP-4 already moved to the final stages of systems checking at the LCA Division. HAL has converted the erstwhile Kiran hangar to set up this additional production line.

Why are they setting up another production line when their Navy has rejected it and AF is looking for a single engine fighter for MII?

We have one production line which produced 13 A/C in past and 16 in last one year in future it will go beyond the 30 A/C per year
It's 16 although it entered production a long ago & I appreciate your stat..But prove there is a plan for 30 else it is a lol cause one year ago I read somewhere in article that production rate of JFs will be increased to 25% from 16 prer year...
Tejas currently is 11.Next year will be 16-20

Why are they setting up another production line when their Navy has rejected it and AF is looking for a single engine fighter for MII?
Air force..There is an order of around 100.:D

Are they increasing the production of trailers as well? Or it will be 3some on 1 trailer?

What Pakistanis are unable to understand is that Tejas is a great project for academic purposes and providing all the engineering institutions and science museums with a working copy of Tejas, India can create a scientific culture and awareness among people of India about the great capacity and contributions of the HAL to Indian defence and indigenous development. Being a 100% indigenous product from the drawing board to the final product including all subsystems and components , India has done something that no other country on the planet could accomplish or will ever be. Just look at F-35, USA needed multiple countries to participate in the program. JF17 is develop by China, Pakistan merely assembles and the engine is from Russia and we Indians can force Russia to stop providing engines to Pakistan and thus crippling Pakistan. We can either do it by using our money or if that does not work, our PM shree mati Naredra Modi can arrange a private Kathak session with President Vladimir Putin... there are so many ways
