it seems jamara is most dangerous place most of the death occurred at that place in different time .

though we cannot compare one with other as hajj is mandatory for us on the other hand istema is manmade rutual .more importantly a people gather in istema arrive at different time and sit at on place they don't need to move from one place to other for any ritual like in hajj at a times most people gathered during 'akheri munajat'' come and go but those arrived for istema actually stay for a while leave gradually.

There are certainly some differences. I am listing them below,

1) The age difference of the Hajj pilgrims and the Ijtema participants:
I don't know the facts, but would not be surprised if the Hajj participants are elderly folks mostly.

2) The Heat:
The heat is unforgiving. I have experienced temperature of 106 F at 11pm in summer in the ME. It feels like you are in a giant oven. Most of the migrant worker death in ME is heat induced cardiac arrest or heat stroke.

3) Infrastructure:
Mecca has the better infrastructure hands down. Better hospitals, roads, and sanitation facilities.

4) Millions of people from different nationalities and culture: People speaking different languages can be a huge problem.

The point is the old and the weak have been performing hajj for more than a thousand years. The hot weather is also nothing new in Saudi Arabia. The host know all these factors, giving them ample time to prepare.

Such a cheap way of making propaganda by playing with dead bodies.

Stretching the right hand of a dead body out and straightening the index finger by force, while the body has gone into rigor mortis (therefore holding the position) is vile, sick and below all interpretations of humanity.

Instead of these kind of propaganda, Saudis should transparently explain why 131+ Iranians and 236+ Pakistanis were killed along with hundreds of others from Muslim world in matter of minutes.

@haman10
only 7 Pakistani died and the reason for high Iranian dead count because they are the one who cause it.
and we don't need to explain jack shit to you if you don't like how we manage hajj well you cant do shit.

Here is an interesting paragraph from,
Video: Mecca stampede: At least 717 killed and hundreds injured in crush during hajj - Telegraph

"Crowd control experts generally prefer to avoid even using words such as "stampede", as that implies blame on the crowd itself rather than those responsible for managing them.

John Drury, an expert in crowd psychology at the University of Sussex, told The Telegraph: "In general, the reason why there are crowd crushes are because there are problems with management. People can't see how dense a crowd is when they are in one, they have what we call poor 'back to front communication'. So when it goes wrong you cannot blame the crowd because they are not in a position to be blamed." "

Hajj stampede caused by Iranian pilgrims “not following instructions”: Hajj mission official

Mina, Asharq Al-Awsat—The Hajj tragedy that has left hundreds of people dead and injured was caused by a group of Iranian pilgrims who failed to follow instructions from Hajj authorities, an official from Iran’s Hajj mission has revealed.
At least 717 pilgrims were killed and 863 injured on Thursday when two large groups of people collided at a crossroads in Mina, east of the Muslim holy city of Mecca, the Saudi interior ministry said.

The official, who requested anonymity to discuss the issue, said the accident occurred after a group of around 300 Iranian pilgrims failed to follow orders requiring them to wait for clearance to leave Jamarat—the site where pilgrims perform the “stoning the devil” ritual.

Instead, the group went back to their mission’s headquarters as other groups were on their way to the site as scheduled, according to the official.

“The group stopped for a while, causing the coming pilgrims to take a route no more than 20 meters wide,” he said, adding that such behavior often leads to tragic consequences in crowded areas.

The Iranian pilgrims were scheduled to leave Jamarat hours after the accident took place, the official said.

Meanwhile, a Saudi security source said authorities may check security cameras installed in the tunnel leading to Jamarat to verify when the Iranian group left the site.

Saudi Arabia’s King Salman Bin Abdulaziz on Thursday offered his condolences to the families of the victims and promised that “the improvement of the methods and mechanisms of the Hajj season will not stop.”

The majority of eyewitnesses who spoke to Asharq Al-Awsat agreed that the crush occurred after pilgrims “failed to follow orders from security.”

Yahia Hamida, a 26-year-old pilgrim from Jordan, told Asharq Al-Awsat that “an unusual mass of pilgrims congregated on Street 204 [that leads to Jamarat] after some entered the wrong lane.”

“Movement on Street 204 was normal until a large number of pilgrims came in the opposite direction, which stopped movement for about an hour and a half before the elderly began to collapse,” another pilgrim said.

Saudi interior ministry has said investigations into the causes of the tragic stampede were underway and that “high temperature and tiredness” contributed to the accident.

136 dead Iranians, and 344 missing. Yeah, Iranians have nothing to do with disturbing Hajj at all.

@Serpentine Now I can say the MAJORITY (Literally) of the casualties are Iranians.

That's because you're the product of the Jordanians educational system and therefore unable to count. If they taught you to think and count, then Israel wouldn't be able dominate you like they do.

The Makkah governorate has denied reports in international media with regard to the press statement of Prince Khaled Al-Faisal, emir of Makkah, advisor of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and chairman of the Central Haj Committee, about the stampede in Mina.

The foreign media reported that Prince Khaled had held some African pilgrims responsible for the stampede.

“Such reports are nothing to do with truth, and the emir did not make any such remarks about the incident to any local or foreign media outlets,” said Sultan Al-Dosari, official spokesman of governorate, the Saudi Press Agency reported.

More than160 Iranians have died and our retarded Mullahs are just barking .

Hajj must be sanctioned by Iran the same way it was in 80s .

Fuc.k non existent Ummah , Fuc.k illegitimate sons of Ibn Taimiyah in Saudi Arabia .

These fuckers are still lying and covering the actual number of dead pilgrims . More than 21 trucks full of dead corpse have just arrived to morgue leave alone hundreds of missing pilgrims .

The true number of dead pilgrims is higher than 2000 not 700 .

We don't even know the true number. Everyone is saying Iranian death is the highest, but maybe its because no one else care to report on their dead. Look at the wiki page, out of 405 are still "unknown" after 4 days. That means more than 50% are still unknown.

I don't know, I just feel depressed by the whole thing, not just by the dead, but by the whole attitude. There is such a complete apathy, that it gets me down. If a tragic incident happens in European countries, their government will get so involved, the media will be reporting on it day and night, and the people would demand action from their government.

But with us, its nothing.

the path which Saudi murders closed is the one which is used by most of Shiah caravans, (of course some people like to call it Another coincidence).
cell phones and cameras are seized by Saudi Security forces to censore the information.
more than 2000 deads and 7000 casualties is the latest estimations.

Khalid Saleh, a Saudi government employee who rushed to the site when he heard screams and sirens, said he had found “huge numbers of people on the ground either dying or injured.” Pilgrims there told him that some of the area’s exits had been closed so that V.I.P. cars could pass, he said.

The number of Iranian pilgrims killed in the recent tragedy in Saudi Arabia’s Mina has increased to 226.

That was announced late Monday by head of the Iranian Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization Saeid Ouhadi who also put the number of wounded Iranian pilgrims at 27, with 248 Iranians still unaccounted for.

The Saudi Health Ministry says around 770 people lost their lives in the crush in Mina, near the holy city of Mecca, on September 24. However, Iran’s Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization puts the total number of pilgrims killed in the incident at more than 2,000.
