Always the same place, its happening since decades but nothing changed it seems, theres obviously a problem with the organisation.
Same place? Did you even read your own post? You submit to the organization brought to you or don't come, as simple as that.

This was negligent behavior on the part of the Saudi officials. They misdirected a large number of pilgrims who were going to the jamarat such that they ended up coming face to face with a large number of pilgrims going the other way.

The blame will be shifted to the pilgrims and that they didn't follow timetables and directions. As someone who just finished hajj, there are no timetables and directions offered. You have to figure everything out on your own, the guards speak Arabic, a language that 99% of the pilgrims don't speak or understand.

Believe what you want to believe but this was caused by human error and was easily avoidable. Sad sad state of managment.

In this day and age with availability of digital systems, a surveillance network can be built with small electronic wristband trackers issued to every pilgrim and the movement of the crowd tracked in real time with prediction algorithm mapping events several steps ahead of the crowd. But No. Instead of investing in these technologies to welcome the pilgrims, lets go and have fun in super expensive hotels of Paris and London for quarter of a million dollar a night per suite and buy F-15's at quarter a billion dollar a piece.

This was an avoidable tragedy.

@Serpentine @Daneshmand @The SiLent crY @mohsen :

Iranian hajj official : Saudia clan has denied access to Iranian rescue teams .

A team of Iranian surgeons and doctors were also denied access to the saudia

Unfortunately Hajj has become a commercial activity for Saudis. They are more interested to charge Hajis various fees and sell them some Chinese goodies at double the price. It has just become a money making enterprise for them. After all the wars have to be financed one way or the other and the finance of a war becomes even more difficult if the population does not want to sacrifice their living standards.

Stop posting irrelevant pictures.

You are disrupting the logical discussion going on here on the causes of this tragedy.

Your propaganda is not welcome.

It seems Al-Saud themselves also believe the safty measure for haj is inadequate and outdated.

That is the least which should be done. An impartial and completely transparent investigation. Similar to how aviation accidents are scrutinized and learnt from.

There is a problem with our stupid mentality. 1.57 billion muslims in 2015 are trying act like its the year 600, where muslims were in the hundreds.

ISLAM NEEDS TO CHANGE TO REFLECT THE TIMES. The responsibility falls on the heads of every Muslim scholar and sheikh or cleric or mullah or whatever.

The first thing I am going to say is that I will read Fatiha for all the shaheed of the Mina tragedy. Today's Eid was very somber. Since hearing the news in the morning I haven't thought about much else. What should be a joyous day has turned into one of of sadness and reflection. My prayers are with the families who lost loved ones.

Now for the blame. I'm beginning to hear that a route was blocked and people were misdirected and with such vast numbers this is a recipe for disaster. I appreciate the Saudis have done a great deal to ensure the safety of pilgrims, but when I see some of the staff that have been deployed for the Haj, I just can't help but despair. Many of the men in uniform are great but there is still far too many that are inexperienced, stupid and rude. I hope the enquiry is made public and we know what exactly went on.

As for the pilgrims there are just literally vast swathes of people who are just completely and utterly ignorant and care about nothing but themselves. During my Haj of 2006, the year of the last infamous crush, I lost count of how many old people I had to rescue due to the antics of mainly young, jahil men who think it is ok to barge past and trample over anything to get to where you are going. Some go as far as to physically assault people and several times I had to step in.
The Prophet(saws) said he had come to perfect manners, sadly you'll a complete lack of good manners on display during the Haj. That's not to say that I didn't come across many magnificent folk, I did and again in great numbers, but the sheer numbers of rude people are far too many of what is meant to be a journey of a lifetime/religious pilgrimage.

@BLACKEAGLE What are you trying to say with those pictures? That the Saudi soldiers are helping the injured? That's nice, but no one here expected them to kick the injured in the head, did they?

Criticism is fair. Some people here are being harsh in their criticism, but that's not surprising when 1000 people die in one day, do they? People are sad and angry, and you and some other posters are either directly blaming the victims or saying "well, there are more than a million pilgrims, a thousand dying is no big deal" How many should have died for you to be as concerned as the rest of the posters here? 2000? 5000? 10,000?
