What's new

Gwadar another Dubai emerging on world map: Chinese media

Since I am also not a diplomat therefore I reserve the right to call your country "Terrorists" :D
I damn care, your country has tried on countless occasion to declare Pakistan a terrorist country and failed miserably
Your Army people boldly claim their activities in Indian Kashmir and Afghanistan on TV shows. All your neighbours except China claim that your country is indulging in disruptive activities in their land. You agents are caught everyday in these countries but if a single Indian is caught in Pakistan then you become a cry baby.
I would need reference, source, link. Sir, sorry, I can't take your words as an alternative to the facts.
OK, then tell your Government to rescind it. India WILL Welcome this Gesture. :enjoy:
The govt will do it when and what it feels right
Golden Words and Spoken like true Pakistani
:argh: nothing new
Just read the necessary preconditions of plebiscite which were mutually agreed upon in UN before debating the issue.
I guess you need it more yourself.

China promised Indonesia $30 billion in Invesrment in 2005. Actual realisation till 2015: $1.8 Billion.

Pakistanis should apply the same ratio to Chinese fake dreams they show to gullible Pakistanis.

They already have ports which have access to indian ocean so they dont need Gawadar as it is a competitor to their ports as well.

If I may so without it seeming that I anxiously wish my country to be a participant in the activities of Gwadar, a port has two functions.

It exports. It imports.

Gwadar is not just an access to the Indian Ocean. It is an access to the hinterland of the port by the Indian Ocean. Secondly, there is no way that exports from Pakistan can use Indian ports, or need to use Indian ports. That is irrelevant. Thirdly, there is every reason to foresee exports from Mumbai reaching Gwadar for import, or exports from Gwadar reaching Mumbai for import.

China doesn't share a border with Indonesia. China is dead serious about Gwadar and it is needless to say why. No doubt China is going to profit massively from Gwadar.

LOL, Indonesia is not an ally of China, what's with promise? I guess you meant China promised to loan Indonesia $30 billion.

Don't any illusion. Pakistan will not offer the terrorists anything this is just his personal opinion and he has already been embarassed enough as the policy of appeasement normally leads to, especially when people disregard their national interests, they end up being a laughing stock for rest of the world. Kashmir has to be freed and water issues to be solved either through peaceful talks or war and I don't say I have preference of one over the other, before we can think of any relations.

Keep your gwadar dream with you... lol offering terrorists? speaking with your self! ..coming to the kashmir, it shows your level of brainwash... already tried wars ... but results remained same/ isolated .. your concern is water not kashmir admit it..

I could see there is hardly anything to debate and carrying on with this point scoring match is futile.

Since you want links on Countries accusing Pakistan of indulging in terrorism, I concede that no country has ever made any such accusation.

Also UN resolution on Kashmir is dead and your army can always try to take it from Indians to save innocent Kashmiris

regards and thanks for your time

I like this forum because mostly its balanced discussion, trolls and the like are quickly dismissed.

I write this because as a Pakistani, I have huge concerns about CPEC, but would like your views and reassurance.

CPEC is $46 billion. 3/4s is power related the rest is transport, e.g motorways, rail or metro, with freebies thrown in like Gwader airport.

On power , coal projects are charging twice what India pays for electricity and solar is four times plus what UAE pays.
Is this a non issue if its cheaper than what we currently pay despite being higher than our neighbours? I thought the whole idea was to make us more completive?

I see CPEC as a north south corridor, that will benefit internal trade and maybe trade with South Afghanistan trade. Why do I say this? well China already has a train service from its industrial heartland to Iran and has already run trains on this route. The route of the train runs though all the major Central Asian states, bypassing Afghanistan, but still able to serve the north Afghanistan.

sovereign guarantees and other commitments are hidden, Gwadar port gives Chinese companies tax free status for 40 years, transit tolls are yet to be announced.

Thoughts please, preferably ones that will help me sleep easier please.

So it seems the obituary want sent to India only...the rest of the world will disagree with you.

Pakistan always extended its hand for the peace but it was taken for granted and it never solved anything. Not even a week ago, Indian media jumped on the first opportunity to frame Pakistan and ISI in the Dhaka attack; the responsibility of which ISIS claimed immediately after.
But to my surprise, many Indian pdf members were giving ISIS a clean chit and naming ISI instead even before the raid of the police. But I should have remembered that India is our enemy that can go to any lengths in harming Pakistan.

Now it is time for people like me to change their minds and tongues as the offer of the peaceful talks are perceived as a weakness.

I am afraid not.

In 1972, Pakistan signed the Simla Pact with India and with Bangladesh, inter alia obtaining back her servicemen remaining in custody, and ensuring that 195 people who were to stand trial for war crimes were released without trial. That pact definitively stated that all matters between India and Pakistan would be handled bilaterally.

Point one: the countries concerned have themselves eliminated the UN from involvement.

Point two: the UN has realised that there is no longer any dispute. If you check the records, and stop making facetious remarks about obituary notices being sent here and there, you will find that in November 2010, the UN had removed Kashmir from its list of disputed territories.

The rest of your post does not relate to facts and therefore do not concern me, or any other reasonable person.

OK sir, Great insight :) . I will look into it and get back to you.

 This is going to fall flat on the pakistanis so badly, that when it does, I won't be able to contain my laughter anymore. The Pakistanis seem to be very reliant, especially with China, when if you think about it, barely did squat. They were absent in the past when Pakistan needed them the most, at most all they did was offer support which came in the form of sweet words. Keep trusting the drones. I mustn't speak good of my enemy, but the only way you will prosper is to take your own destiny by the steer, not ride passenger.

As for power, it would seem reasonable to first reduce the costs from where they stand, and from that new position, review the overall picture and plan a strategy for achieving competitive costing. The figures mentioned seem strangely high, and perhaps someone among the members equipped to do so would examine them and opine. However, on the face of it, a $30 billion plus investment in power generation should be good news, taken by itself.

I couldn't complete it! My system will finish me off. I was pointing to the vulnerability of Gwadar Port to military attack, also to its commercial prospects, which latter is good for Pakistan, and explains China's far-sighted arrangement for tax-free status while the port is slowly built up and established.

There is a third aspect: China is presently at the rim of a period of negative population growth, and may find it extremely difficult to sustain its earlier scorching pace of growth. It is possible to foresee a day when native Pakistani trade and commerce takes up the slack and uses the infrastructure for a vigorous and flourishing business. But that will be decades away.

Any port in the subcontinent is vulnerable to attack. I'm sure both Pakistan and India cover each other's territory in multiple ways e.g. missiles, air strikes, naval strikes etc..so that's true but pointless about Gwader. I would say it is infact safer than Karachi due to the distance and having two or more ports gives Pakistan more options during a war. Furthermore both Pakistani and Chinese navies will be operating from there so attacking Gwader will mean a direct attack on China, a scenario India or any country can ill afford in an eon with or without uncle sam.

I am actually watching the movie "Synchrocity"
