Guy Ritchie will cast Indian actors as Aladdin and Jasmin after facing backlash

Facepalm moment. How do we prove we have no racial biases when casting actors? Why let's get an Indian actor to play a Middle Eastern character! They are all brown right?

Reminds me of Saladin being played by some random Indian actor in "Arn". Anybody even partially aware of Middle Eastern culture and society straight away picked up that there was something odd with this Saladin. Thankfully " Kingdom of Heaven" choose a Syrian.

Lol, what about this ?

They should have ignored the blacklash, Tom Hardy would have great in the role of Jafar

I don't want Indian actors playing my first cartoon crush. Stick to Persians/Middle-Eastern - that's what the movie is about.

Looks like you were watching it on a black and white TV.
By the way your Cartoon crush is a mutant. He changes his skin color from Brown to White.:lol:
So you can't complain the actor being Indian.

Lol..

They even show Arabs and Indians as Pakistanis.

Now you get a taste of it.
you got to see how ill informed they are when they use the uniforms and dialogues of Pakistan army.
in one drama series of HBO last hope they showed Pakistan navy wearing a uniform which was a cross between Sadam hussain's uniform and North Korean uniform with Tamil to pass as urdu.

Indians are more established in acting i think thats why they want to cast Indian actors instead of middle easterners.

. . .
Why don't Pakistani actors try? Are they so dumb or something....
I am so sad about our drama industry, what Indian soaps cannot do to our dramas, Turk's soap have done it. When we only buy dramas from india , our drama industry produces gem after gem of TV, which really make us proud. But after Turkish soaps, no innovation came. Instead now almost all dramas are same sass baho and related to marriage and nothing else.

Our film industry is also following what we may call the Indian path , surely they are new, have less budget. But they have set Bollywood as a standard which they are following and not making our own style.
So sad to see this.

. . .

Well...........lol...

Yeah, Military Drama in the US is basically a joke, well, I meant if they want to portrait some other country.

I had worked in the field after I was discharged (well, did quite a lot of odd job in between) and I can tell you this, the grade or level of authenticity offered in any military drama is totally depending on the person they hire as technical advisor. The whole big boss lot know jack shit about who wear what uniform and who speak what.

Producer, Director have no idea how uniform from different country looks like, and most of the people who work as technical advisor would not generally care about it (Unless you are talking about historical movie like Band of Brothers or Saving Private Ryan or The Pacific) most advisor does not really know what uniform other country wear, some don't really care, and they would probably uses woodland camo all the way thru, but for "Our Guys" they would have spend thousand of dollar to get the same gear the SEAL is wearing (Cyre AOR2 or so on).

I didn't work on Last hope (But I know the person who work on set as technical advisor) and they don't generally do research on uniform and try to make it as realistic as possible, there are some director who actually care and
really do some research on it, but then you still need to know, even if you can do research on uniform and languages, it does not equal to what you can get at that point. Say for example, if someone want to be as realistically to portrait a Pakistani soldier, he or she would have to be able to have to look at and touch a Pakistani uniform before they can make one themselves. So, how exactly can they portrait a Pakistani if all they can see if uniform from photo, you cannot make anything out of it, and then you would have to use woodland or anything because you have no choice.

Most of what responsible producer do would be to contact the government of the country they want to portrait and ask if they can borrow a set of Uniform, it has been done by US, most European Country, but In my memory, none succeeded in Middle East or Asian country (Bar China). Otherwise you will need to go to people that have a collection and borrow them for reference, I don't know if you aware, I have a very large camo uniform collection, and I earn quite a lot of money lending them out to the producers and such :)

This Canadian Military Series is probably the most comprehensive about uniform as far as I know (And yes, I helped) they had an Aussie AUSCAM (which is wrong era by the way) Canadian CADPAT, US ACU, Germany Flecktarn, UK 85' Desert uniform, Singapore digital uniform and Afghani Uniform right (well, most of them right anyway)

Guy Ritchie's genre is not adventure or fantasy. He should stop quit making these kinda movies. His stuffs are city, urbane, blood and action.

Honestly my head had so much terrible pain watching King Arthur. Such an BS movie from him.
Honestly they should enact an Arab guy. But Arabic world doesnt have great film industries to begin with, and hence the move to recruit Indian actors. Better for India ;P
