i might be wrong in saying this, but the job of a soldier is not to display civilized attitude for the sake of other nations, but to protect his homeland from threats, and in doing so gurkhas are most efficient. might be barbaric, but efficient. as long as successfully protect us, it doesnt matter wat way they do it. we will support them.

In World war only 1 lac 50,000 gurkhas took part... same amount of sikhs 8-9 lac hindus(rajputs mostly n other martial races) and 6-7 Lac Muslims frm what is today Pakistan..


From what i think gurkhas r over rated... they are short in height and thin in physical appearence.

First of all Talibans did not fight the Russians.. it was mujahideen..which included Northern alliance members too..

Secondly.. what according to u is control?? Do they have a gov placed in 80% Afghanistan..
Do they run hospitals for poor or any one in those areas?...do they run any municipal or similar departments in those areas..?
No..they bomb innocent civilians and soldiers/police.
if i consider that as a definition of control..then TTP controls whole of Pakistan..

Considering the population of Muslims is almost equal in India and Pakistan (india being a little lower), I would think the 6-7 lac muslims in WWII were also kind of 3 lacs each from India and Pakistan..

On Gorkhas being overrated, well, its a matter of opinion.. I have similar view of Pathans who are large and clunky.. I guess, to each his own

Let me correct you sir. Gurkhas are most humble, down to earth and professional soldiers. If some Gurkha would have beheaded chinese in 1965 war, he must have done it during fight.

Don't compare it with Barbaric Taliban (the way they did with Daniel perl). I am 100% sure that a Gurkha will never fight with an unarmed man... Gurkhas are one of the most civilized fighters. Attacking on unarmed soldiers is against there religious belief.

Till date no human right violation case come against Gurkha regiment be it India afghanistan or any other part of world...

Lol man.. didnt the british believe in martial races theorey? thts why they have baluch,pashtun FF,muslman rajput,punjabi, etc regiment tht recruited frm Pakistan.... the first VC won by a native was by a muslim Rajput soldier Khudadad Khan frm jhelum,Pakistan ...All muslim awarded VC came frm Pakistan.. thts a fact.


Abt Pushtuns they r big,fierce n good soldiers.
