There is a $105M appropriation in the 2019 military expenditure fund for the initial procurement of 36 modern torpedoes. These are destined to be fielded on the 214, as well as the AIP upgraded AIP 209 submarines the Greek Navy has. This is essentially a continuation of the 15 year old procurement program for said weapons that was cancelled in 2004 due to a large integration cost.

The goal for the Greek navy is to have each submarine field 8 modern dual use torpedoes to augment the stock of SUT Mod 0/ SST4 it already uses.

The new competitive procurement process is set to analyze 4 torpedo systems. The Naval Group F-21, the DM-2A4 «Seeheckt», the Italian Black Shark BSA and the US made Mk.48 Mod.6AT. Out of the four, it seems that the F-21 currently emerges as a favorite.

Turkey is a independant country we can buy whatever they want. If they want Chinese weapons they will buy that stuff too.

You realise when Turkey buys from russia and other countries no problem but everytime Turkey tries to buy from the West the West actually says no you cant buy from us.

I have my issues with Erdogan foreign policy but weaning off from Yankee and NATO suppliers is a good policy shift America puts too much strings for their equipment I really think its time for you guys to ditch NATO why should you guys defend Europe who does not see you as an equal partner sees you guys as guest workers still and blah blah
