Greece to receive 460 M113s from US

. .
Longest night is 22 Dec, and Longest day is 22 June (approximately).
Right now we are right in between, with 17'C in southern Sweden, and snowstorms in the north.:bunny:

Reason for the bad reputation was the 30-year war between Protestants and Catholics (1618-1648)
Sweden entered the war after 10 years, and won some great victories initially against the Catholics,
Mainly due to new tactics and use of easily movable field guns.:guns::guns::sniper:

War was partly subsidized by France. After one year, Sweden ran out of money,
but bringing the army home would mean that France would want money back,
so it was decided to leave the Army in Germany and they were told to find their own means
of making a living. This they did for the next 20 years.:dance3::dance3::dance3::dance3::dance3:

There is an area right north of Vienna called "Schwedenplatz", because it was there the Swedish Army camped.

After the peace, Northern Germany was part of Sweden, until the Napoleonic Wars, after which that was traded in for Norway.

In former Czechoslovakia, there was 30,000 villages before the war. After the war, only 6,000 remained.
Was in Prague a couple of years ago, and they still want their stuff back.:hitwall: :nono:

Not a very pleasant period of human history, not at all.

Greece to receive 460 M113s from US

The Greek Army has finalised the transfer of 460 M113A2 series armoured vehicles from the United States, delivery of which should be in batches in mid-2014.

The M113s are being transferred free of charge under the US Excess Defence Articles (EDA) programme, with Greece paying EUR4 million (USD5.5 million) for their transportation.

The vehicles will be inspected at the 304 Army Depot at Velestino before being forwarded to operational units.

Among the vehicles included in the transfer are M113A2 armoured personnel carriers, M577A2 command post vehicles, M901A2 Improved TOW launcher carriers, M106A2 mortar carriers, and M1059 smoke-generating vehicles.

Also in line for transfer later in the year are 320 Oshkosh HEMTT series trucks comprising M977 and -985 utility trucks and M978P1 fuel tankers.

Why not sell their Mirage-2000s to IAF and also F-16s to other countries and get just some P-3Cs free of cost from US....

.
Imagine a country who was called cradle of west. One day Turks came out of nowhere. And Greeks got been beaten in every war. Later they lost their beloved city "Constantinople" to these barbarians and became fully conquered and been ruled for 3 centuaries by Turks.

They hate us to guts and they fear from us a lot. :fie:

Well , you can deny it all day long but Greece indeed was the cradle of human civilisation not just the west. Some of the greatest thinkers and philosophers of ancient times were Greek

Epic Facepalm

Wtf ? Why is Greece receiving free hand outs and not...well...us ? We contributed more in Irak,A'stan and we are more exposed in the Eastern flank.
Because Greeks beg for free hand outs and they have tricked the world in believing they are descendants of Ancient Greeks.

Greeks are use to giving their arse to third countries in return for a favor. I bet US didn't give them really for free but asked something in return.

Fair enough, but now past is gone for good.

Now compare its outputs of the day to great powers like France, the UK, maybe India or Turkey?
