Misleading graphic. Look in the lower left corner at U.S. Troops overseas. That tells the real story. There was a sharp and marked dip after the USSR went belly up in 1991. We were pulling troops home. Things were looking good. Then in 2001, we all know what happened. Someone poked the slumbering bear again.

If the USA was determined to "conquer the world and enslave everybody", what would the graph show? It would show a marked rise in troop deployments in 1992, as the USA took advantage of the vacuum offered by the dissolution of the USSR.

If people are wiling to be THIS gullible, what we should do is build small squad level Army and Air Force stations, not bases, all over the world and man them with two-week TDY rotations. We will definitely 'enslave' the world then.

Those small squad level stations would still pack formidable firepower (not to mention close air support very quickly upon request) to give any 2nd or 3rd rate 'national' army a run for its money! ;)

ps: I didnt know Alaska, Hawaii, Guam, Peurto Rico are considered "Foreign" by the US. No wonder you have all those "birthers' doubting POTUS's birth credentials!!
