Well, one of the major component that’s passed on and/or becomes part of circular debt is T&D losses which for some DISCOs run at around 40% and more. Private sector running a disco will make sure to reduce to to world average or else it will have to bear the loss on its books. Either way it will not get accumulated onto the circular debt.

As an example KESC had T&D losses of 35.6% in 2009 which has come down to around 19% now and continuing downwards.

T&D losses will come down, but Govt will not pay for subsidies which are political decisions. In India most of the Discoms are in losses due to political promises. Political corruption is eating public from inside.

In Pakistan it’s more due to inefficient operations of government owned DISCOs and apathy of people running it. That’s why, if not all then at least the top 5-6 offenders should be privatized ASAP to stop the hemorrhaging and in mid to long term improve the efficiencies.

It is relatively cheap, it depends upon state in which we reside. Earlier in TN in summer for 2 Acs for 2 month I paid highest is 4.5k, currently in Maharashtra paid 9 k for 1 AC for one month...

Most Pakistanis think like this: First let corrupt govts sign ridiculously bad binding contracts on behalf of the people. And when price of these contracts is to be paid: Blame the mess on another govt which had no say during the signing of these very bad binding contracts.

Imran ji has people's mandate, close all contracts which not helpful to your country. Prosecute and punish all ppl who are guilty... If required implement Sharia law to instill discipline. If you have to move forward, cut the baggage of historical corruption.
