Govt. to go ahead with 1856-MW hydel project in J&K and reduce flow of water to Pakistan

Cool.

So are you going to wait for the Dam to get completed or will you start the war before its completed ?

You must be aware that Dams need to hold water resulting in shortage of water to pakistan.

Don't you think you better start preparing now ?

WE are already buying S400, Rafale, Su 30MKI, LCA, Tanks, Artillary guns, etc. We have brought down our war preparation time to 20 days.

How much progress have you made ?

The second last war we had led to Bangladesh independence. The last war was Kargil where you had to leave your dead behind.

It does not look too good for you.
I think this time war will be nuclear..So nothing will work out more..S400 can't stop all of our missiles or bombs to drop on major indian cities

Nothing to worry any stoppage of water unlawfully will lead to destruction and death on both sides..Paksitan has already said stopping water will be a war act...

Pakistan has accused India on many many many many occasions of having stopped the water. I see no war except the 70 year exercise in creating organising aiding and funding terror groups.
If a pin drops Pakistan is there threatening war and nuclear first strike, personally, its all wearing a bit thin, but enough to fool the endlessly fooled and brainwashed awam of Pakistan. They will believe anything that comes from a man in a army uniform.

.
Seems to me India is using all its cards against Pakistan in one go. They might not be left with much soon afterwards. Current Indian regime ain't that good with long term strategic planning.

.
This mega structure will give immense power in the hands of Indians.

Pakistan has no choice but to make sure that they halt this project otherwise They will be at India's mercy for Water.

Its a run of the river project and we cant obviously save water except for initial filling.

In line with a decision to step up exploitation of India’s share of water in the Indus Water Treaty (IWT), an environment ministry expert panel has recommended clearance to the 1,856 MW Sawalkote hydropower project in Kashmir.

The Jammu and Kashmir State Power Development Corp. Ltd (JKSPDC) project is estimated to cost over Rs22,000 crore. It was recommended for environment clearance by the environment ministry’s Expert Appraisal Committee (EAC) for River Valley and Hydroelectric Projects during its latest meeting on 30-31 January, according to the minutes of the meeting.

The final decision on granting clearance will be taken by the environment ministry but it rarely overturns the recommendations of the expert panel.

In September, 18 soldiers were killed when militants stormed an Indian Army battalion headquarters in northern Jammu and Kashmir (Uri region), close to Line of Control.

Following that, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had directed the government to step up exploitation of India’s share of water in the IWT. Signed by India and Pakistan in 1960, IWT gives a detailed framework for sharing the waters from the Beas, Ravi, Sutlej, Indus, Chenab and Jhelum rivers .

The project in the Ramban district of Jammu and Kashmir envisages construction of a 192.5m high concrete gravity dam to utilize water of Chenab River. An underground powerhouse has been proposed whose installed capacity would be 1,856 MW. It involves utilization of flow of Chenab River for generation of electrical power in a run-of-the-river scheme.
