What's new

Govt has surrendered to India: BNP

If you were in power and two competing business interest lobby you which one you will go for. One who says spinning industry should be protected(without supply of domestic cotton) or value added RMG which will fetch higher price and possibly compete with china if you can make it massively big.

Are you sure your spinning industry is sufficient to support the RMG and not shackle it?
Dont go by personal loss, imagine you did not have any factory in your family.

I see your point but the Bangladesh textile is also a very big indsutry with the thousands of job it creates, the government should protect it. Right now due to the global melt down, huge cotton stock pile; the mills are shut down and the cotton is going for 98 cents. This sector has been very badly hurt for the past 6-8 months, at this rate our textile industry will collapse within the next 7-8 months.

Yes our spinning is in direct competetion with INDIA, as i have said earlier during BNP'S time we had a tariff on India's yarn, now that tariff has been lifted, thus our spinning sector has been hit since its 12-15% more expensive. Since the AL government , we have been exporting our yarn mostly instead of supplying it locally because BAL government has killed the Bangladeshi market for it's spinners. Stop posting quotes from other places for the sake of putting quotes.

Well. Competition is not a bad thing. It is prudent for Bangladesh to develop its energy and manufacturing infrastructure.

The main point is that our output increases. A weak currency has advantages. Our exports will be cheaper. And we certainly do want to penetrate the Russian and East European markets.

As far as Airtel is concerned, yes there was controversy in their entry into the market. But it doesn't exactly hold the biggest market share either. We'll see how they go.

We don't need any additional telecom operators! I think it is prudent that Bangladesh goes for 3G. The only limitation is the government's weird model for the whole thing!

That was so boring

Seeing the comments of AL minister that " the country is not concerned", I assume a lots of surprises are yet to come. The country is infiltrated and the government is occupied. Otherwise, how come some moral person talk like this sshit?

If I was the man who was beaten naked in public, then I would call for a press conference and give up my nationality. Because, if the minster talks like that, if the country can't protest for me, and if the government bypass the responsibility, then I ffuck.....

Just think that you are beaten naked and the country/government is not sympathetic to you.

not abdul mubeem, i said moeen u ahmed. i wanted to join the canadian army after my high school, i have a fondness for military, any military for that matter. Canadian military has a special force called JTF 2, i really wanted to get in that. And whats wrong with fighting the intruder?

Now it proves that you are the son of the biggest spinning mill in BD!!!!! Stop bullcraping.
99% of our yarns are imported through bonded warehouse with zero duty for reexport. Its been the case all along. In couple of years of BNP time, land based import through benapole was restricted. It was even for a short period of time and are on and off.

Besides govt is in constant negotiation with India for uninterrupted cotton supply from India and as far as I could remember, India agreed to some quota for Bangladesh and guaranteed export which will help our spinner a lot. Also government made arrangment with Uzbekistan to directly purchase cotton from them who supplies 45% of our cotton who used to supply through 3rd country like Dubai. Government also in negotiation with African cotton directly shipped to Bangladesh. Not only that, they are in process of building warehouse in BD for African farmer.

After doing so many things for spinners, if you still believe that Indian yarn are killing you than go to helll. We dont need 3rd class spinner who cant take compettition.

Well to be honest most of the spinning mills in Asia are in crisis with huge pils of cotton and the fallen cotton price. But the our government can certainly give us some backing. Its a AA rated spinning millls and it is public limited

There is nothing wrong on what you desire. Point is, so many "facts" about yourself at a time would catch any attention...as simple as that. Not doubting you, but just perplexed!

Anyways, good luck on Canadian Army.

Cheers!!!
