Government could strip citizenship from Americans under Enemy Expatriation

Aryan_B - thanks. I'd click the "thanks" link, but it's missing from your post #17.

I think you're being hyperbolic here, a bit over the top. But I don't disagree with the root of your post. Individual liberties are precious. I am Libertarian in that regard. But the notion of stripping citizenship after due process from a person who is obviously a traitor? What's wrong with that?

So long as there are no abuses. Let's say a citizen of Pakistani descent harshly criticizes the current war and the administration. This is protected speech, and he should not be touched. No court in the USA would censor him. If that same man sets up camp in Yemen or Somalia and calls for men to attack U.S. interests, he's a traitor.

I agree with the basic gist of your post, but why should a 'traitor' be stripped off his/her citizenship? What does stripping a 'traitor' off his/her citizenship do that locking that person up in prison, sentenced for life doesn't do?

.
Great law as most terrorists in the last two decades have been from immigrant population. They need to be Americans first or don't apply.

.
^^ You are an Indian troll pretending to be "American".

Oh and the "Defense Secretary" would like his lightsaber back.

.
from this all i understood is that any Muslim residing in the US can be assaulted, threatened, beaten, abused and then finally stripped of his nationality and thrown in gitmo bay for anything the US considers a ''threat'', this gives the US admin the go ahead to do what it to the ''enemy''.....
So how many muslims have gone through this? You must show a consistent pattern.

Fascism at its very best. What is America becoming?
Do you even know the proper definition of 'fascism' to use it here?

Why not? If citizenship, as both a symbolic gesture and as a status that is accompanied by benefits, are meaningless, then why bother with citizenship in the first place? Why not YOU give up Pakistani citizenship to demonstrate?

Now the author of this video should add more clippings.......... ''and they started stripping Citizenships after 9/11 of all coloured''.

Can't these dickhead Americans simply prosecute and then sentence maximum penalty if found guilty to their citizens for the crime they do; terrorist or not terrorists, combatant or no combatant against the states?

I can see a drooped eyes, deviated mouth and with a cunning smile white rascal/s behind this law.

Yes we can. And withdrawal of citizenship is an additional punishment we have the right to consider. But as I have already asked, if YOU think citizenship is so minor that it should not matter as an adjunct to a charge as heinous as treason, then why not YOU give up whatever citizenship you hold to demonstrate?

I find it a bit ironical that people are complaining about our laws. It seems the one protesting come from countries that would kill us vs. stripping our citizenship, if we had chosen to reside in theirs and broken the simplest of laws. How much freedom would Americans get in your countries? We are talking terrorist being stripped off their citizenship and being deported. But you still get to be anti US in speech. You can still chant death to amerika.

A person even with half a brain can see its a racist bill.

''Just prosecute the god..damn criminal''.

Citizenship is Important or not important is not the argument here at all and adding extra punishment is a clownish argument which doesn't stand its ground in any legal jurisprudence. The kind of strong words I used in my first post shows my Indignation and I can justified each of them if you dig out the definition of 'Citizens' before typing your crafty commentary.

And I can see that am giving a person with half a brain the benefit of the doubt. You are not worth my time.

And now your thankless *** is burning with my assertions and you are getting personal ? Run like a coward if you can't tolerate truth ?

You assume the traitor can be apprehended by the FBI, or is even in the USA. Most possible offenders are overseas. By stripping them of their citizenship, their passport is voided. Their ability to travel is curtailed, and any appeal for help to a U.S. embassy or consulate is ignored.

This isn't that tough. With appropriate safeguards and the much-mentioned due process, this law is fine and within the standard bounds of any nation.

People are trying to whip up emotions and claim "Watch out! Better not criticize, because if you are a Muslim, they'll pack you off to Gitmo!!!!" Over-the-top Ridiculous.

.
this law can be widely misused.
there are many muslim / of muslim origin businessmen who regularly travel abroad..
its way too easy for a business rival to get rid of him by reporting him.as terrorist / terrorist suporter.
authorities dont need proof to arrest them and a simple email or text message can be used as conclusive proof against the person and there will be no problem in his conviction.

.
^^^ A few mistakes are bound to happen, but they can be rectified by further investigation. But these minor mistakes should not be the reason to take away the greater good that will come from enforcing such a law.

Am i surprised?
these days any law that is targeted against muslims is an instant hit and wins elections..

.
^^^ Its not an international law, its a country's law for its state, and the US is not a muslim state, so how can it be against muslims? though it might affect other muslim nationalities but then they have a choice of not harboring ill-intent for their host country.
