People of this country stand firm with the armed forces, that is a bond no politician can influence. If someone joins some political propaganda against the army, by all means please...but soon they would find themselves out of jalsas and marches, and intellectually marooned in the middle of nowhere.

What a load of croc, army is not holy cow anymore. They have been exposed as being as human as the rest of society. Hence as corrupt as the rest of society, if not more since they yield more power.. power corrupts , and greater power corrupts greatly.

Army yields the greatest power hence greatest corruption. Air Force corruption was exposed, navy corruption in deals was exposed, but army leadership has managed to keep army corruption in deals out of the limelight…

it takes some nerve to say that after ~70 back to back record breaking jalsas were just held by one man who went on to bitch slap pml-n in punjab and then win all the by-election seats by himself against the entire group of politicians (minus the obvious rigged seat in karachi), ECP, judiciary and the mighty morphin power rangers.

In no way is my argument that armies should not exist. In Pakistan having a standing army is a precursor to our survival given the neighborhood. However as a nation we should understand that this institution though critical must come within a ambit of checks and balances, otherwise this child that the nation nurtures, loves, and protects will one day become the undoing of the very thing it intends to protect.

The problem is... fundamental definitions in Pakistan have become perverted.

The fundamental definition of merit = unquestioning loyalty, even in the face of immoral or unconstitutional orders

The fundamental definition of traitor = nobody knows, since Pakistani apparently has none (actually has millions)

The fundamental definition of moral courage = N/A, resignation or putting duty/country over personal interests doesn't exist
