Military ops are volatile in nature.BJP didn't thought for a second and tried bombing Pakistan on 26th,what if really those bombs secured a hit,killing 300 kids?
It would easily have been turned into a full blown war.This all for what?Only for elections.

I agree. The crazy thing is what would have required a mechanized infantry battalion of 990 men to grab Kashmir Valley in 1948 now would require million man army and even then might fail.

In case of Gilgit-Baltistan three companies of mountain infantry of 330 men could have captured it in 1948 but today half a million man alpine army would fail. Positions and lines have been dug in with geography helping to create perfect defence strong points.
