SLAMABAD: Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani on Sunday left here for Saudi Arabia to attend the funeral of Crown Prince Nayef bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.
The Prime Minister's entourage comprised Minister for Religious Affairs Khurshid Shah and Chief of the Army Staff General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani.
Prior to departure, Gilani told reporters at the Chaklala Airbase, that entire nation is grieved over the death of Crown Prince Nayef bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.
"The contributions of Crown Prince Nayef for Pakistan will always be remembered," Gilani said, paying tribute to the late Saudi Prince.
Gilani said Crown Prince Nayef played a significant role in strengthening the fraternal bond between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.
He said the Pakistan government and the nation were grieved over this tragic loss and offered their condolences to the Saudi government and the people in these difficult moments.
The premier said during his visit, he would condole with the members of the Saudi Royal family and would attend the funeral of the deceased Crown Prince.
Gilani said Pakistan and Saudi Arabia enjoy brotherly relations and Pakistanis hold Saudi King Abdullah, the Khadim ul Harmain al Sharifain in high esteem.
Crown Prince Nayef, also the Saudia's Deputy Premier and Interior Minister, died on Saturday. His burial will be held in Makkah later today.
