3. If they are AA missiles, why does the display read air-to-ground missiles?

5. Do you see the speed of FAAZ RF increasing upward of Mach 4 and the range upward of 150 km in the next 7-8 years?
6. Can we expect them to arm the JF-17s in the next 7-8 years?
7. If they will arm the JF-17s, would it be before or after the range and speed have been increased?

are these long range anti-radiation missiles? Seems like it to me. Pakistani versions of HARM? Is that they are referring to air to ground.

A damn important development. Now, it can be converted into a ASELSAN GURZ type AD system which uses GOKDO'AN BVR missiles....

6. No. We have sufficient stockpiles of SD-10A, which are arguably more reliable than an in-development product (and yes it's not ready, I don't know why they are displaying it like its ready. We do like to jump the gun for showing off).

Why "no" to the above? Could you elaborate? GIDS website says a FAAZ 2 with a range of 180km is already underdevelopment. It retains the 3.5 Mach speed though. Why is it unlikely that they would be able to bring the speed up to 4 - 4.5 Mach?

Next step would be to develop a SAM version of the FAAZ series missile with a range of upto 100-150km and built in Pakistan.

Eventually the missiles speed can be increased to Mach 4+ by working with the turks/chinese. Such a missile would provide a invaluable shield for army/air/naval assets.

Ukraine war has shown in many cases SAM systems are far more important than fighter jets.

Also great to see Anza series continued to be developed to the latest ANZA-3. Anza series has multiple kills to its name and many wars have proven that most fighters/helicopters are shot down on the front line using shoulder launched manpads. Pakistan army really knows its priorities and I prefer the approach of developing more crucial small arms such as mortars/artillery/manpads/MALE drones/ Missiles first before focusing on bigger aquisition items such as jets/warships/icbms.

Not to say jets/warships are not important but our limited resources for now should be used to produce advanced small arms in pak that can be turned out in wartime while partnering in joint ventures with the turks/chinese for larger projects like we are doing for the jinnah class/AZM fighter jet.

With all this local tech Pak should have a law that atleast 70-80% of defence aquisitions should go to local companies in the next 5 years and 90-95% next 10 years while reaching 100% by 15 years should be the goal. Public stock should be offered for these defence companies upto 50-60% of all company shares should be offered to the public.

We should have a strong understand that the J10s/VT4s/Type 054/AVINCI drones should be the last major foreign aquisitions that we should close out and everything in future should be designed/developed/built and maintained in pakistan
