Germany slams Pakistan's move to execute 500 militants

Germany and EU is against death penalty. No matter what reason. It is the european imperative. So we must issue those concerns. Europe is also aware that Pakistan will do what it wants. So both sides are happy. We issued our disagreement but do nothing to stop it and Pakistan hears our disagreement and thats it. Its called diplomacy.

What do you expect? That chancellor Merkel runs out her office and shouting: "hang those bastards"?

Any statement issued by any western country is taken very seriously in countries like Pakistan and can have a far reaching effect . The well-wishers of Talibans holding important government posts oppose the death penalty to save the skin of their terrorist friends, but of course they will never admit it publicly. They give other reasons to justify their opposition, such as we can't afford to do it because the EU is against it and the economic sanctions can be imposed on Pakistan if we go for it.

Killing a person is not such an easy thing. In Turkiye, we research about them rigorously and looking for a reason of mitigation. Why they join the group, what is their age, financial situation, environmental pressures, taking an active role.... etc...

yeah my upper comment was not meant for u...

well u should be happy that your policee do all this to protect u..... but here the minds of these terrorists are build up to blow the people of pakistan they consider us their enemy ( this i heard in an interview of army man with a terrorist )

the EU never mentioned sanctions. Just made a statement.

Germany is only deliberately telling Pakistan, when you make an agreement with some one, you need to inform the other before you back of from a commitment , if you have good relations with some one. Otherwise it is called as ditching. If Pakistan understands that it is well and good other wise, its well and good too.

No it didn't, but some people can use these kind of statements issued by the ministers of such an important country as a pretext to achieve their agenda. They add some extra things, like sanctions threat, to make their case stronger.

Germany has condemned Pakistan's decision to execute 500 extremists in the coming weeks.

The comments by Germany’s deputy foreign minister spokeswoman Sawsan Chebli on Monday come after Pakistan's decision to execute imprisoned militants after a Taliban attack that killed 142 people, mostly children, in the city of Peshawar last week.

"I want to point out the moratorium implemented by Pakistan in 2008 is the best way," Chebli said.

Chebli added: "At this point, as underlined many times before, the death penalty is an inhuman and cruel way of punishment."

German policy remains opposed to the death penalty.

Pakistan imposed the moratorium on capital punishment following reported pressure from the European Union; however, the country has lifted the de facto ban after the deadly army-run school attack in Peshawar.

Two Taliban commanders were executed in the city of Faisalabad on Friday; four more were executed in the same city on Sunday afternoon.

Just three words F**k you germany

Sometimes one should not when not to comment , this is such a moment .

And you should know the background. Evry crazy taliban can now run away to the EU and claim that his life in Pakistan is in danger. And we must secure him. No matter what he did in Pakistan. Our asylum laws do not allow that we send back even a murderer to a country where he faces death.
