Hi,
Gen Raheel is a WORTHLESS general----has no back bone---and absolutely NO VISION at all.
His worth can be seen with the image of Pak Army coming in a positive light in Pakistan after blunders of Gen Musharraf. Pakistan Army is praised all over Pakistan as well as with critics. A massive change from Musharraf and Kiyani era. i wont go in detail of steps he took, you can search if you want to.
His back bone are two nishan e haiders, infact his back bone can be seen from one small quiet deed which has made a huge impact, the state burial of abdul sattar edhi by Pakistani Armed Forces. Speaks volumes about his thinking pattern to give credit to who really deserves it.
Regarding Vision, Zarb e Azab has decreased the number of terrorist attacks in Pakistan. Why should not a common man of Pakistan thank him.
He is a very SIMPLE man---no larceny in him. He should have been kept just as a battle commander andnot a chief---.
Its your personal opinion that Chief cannot be a battle commander and probably should be involved in politics. I dont agree.
Politics maligns a person and his character. He is very smart to stay away from it. He has seen from past that neither democracy nor martial law has truly helped Pakistan to attain the heights that were envisioned for it in 1947.
His first blunder was not forcing Nawaz Sharif to resign during Dharna and hold re-elections
Its not his job, you expected him to do it while he didnt so now you want to blame him, thats wrong. I will reply it in detail where u pointed it out again.
---his second major major and the worst blunder was not aligning himself with the Gulf states regarding Yemen----.
Firstly,There wasnt a need to get own soldiers killed for money and to Make a mercenary army out of Pakistan Army.
40% of PA formations have given troops for operations in Zarb e Azab. Rest of forces are ready for battle on eastern border with India. There are places from where troops cannot be shifted, like Kashmir region, armoured reserves in north, central and sindh regions. SSG is occupied with FC and LCB's in FATA ops.
Secondly,How many gulf states have sent troops or equipment to Pakistan to help Pakistan in its current time of need.
Has KSA deployed F-15S to support Pakistan in Zarb e Azab? ofcourse they cant. They funded and brainwashed Talibs in 80's. Will KSA sent its ground forces if India attacks Pakistan ? No it wont. KSA ground forces are to protect saud family and to be used against Iran.
Has UAE given 10-12 F-16 Block 60 to PAF for Zarb e Azab ops? are their F-16's stretched out in a war with Iran? How about lending a few Mirage-2000's ?
Thirdly, Iran is our neighbour. Would you like Iran to open a new front against Pakistan if Pakistan sent its armed forces to fight Iran backed rebels against KSA? NO.
Going by your plan, Pakistan will send say 50,000 troops to KSA support first and then put 50,000 troops along Iran border when Iran starts creating trouble on the border in retaliation. Thats winding down 100,000 troops which should have been either fighting Zarb e Azab or on border with India.
Pakistan cannot afford a new front.
The funds received would have increased the strength of pak military by 5 times---.
Pakistan can get funds or weapons from China in terms of soft loans or leases. Its better to depend upon a friend(China) with same interests. No need to pick up the bowl and start running globally for money.
His next blunder was visiting the united states---not realizing that the U S had written off pakistan by that time----.
I am sure it was known before hand to PA that US had written off Pakistan due to many factors including Haq-network mistrust, do-more rhetoric by USA, consistent increase Pakistan nuclear arsenal as well as its security etc.
He didnt go to US to beg for funds or tanks or aircrafts or artillery. He had to point out India's motives towards Pakistan instigating from Afghanistan. It may not have been fruitful but it wasnt a blunder.
His next blunder was threatening to stop corruption and doing nothing----.
His commitment to end corruption started from Army itself. So it isnt justified that he did nothing.
Then last mega blunder---when Nawaz left pakistan for so many days without anyone in power----he should have made Nawaz resign and someone else fill in the void---.
Pakistan is already in a crisis and fighting an internal war. If Raheel Shareef had taken the step that you want, this would have led to chaos inside country and more maligning of Pakistan internationally.
Pakistan is trying to improve its image and lots of sacrifices have been made already by P-Army. It can be stretched so far till something goes entirely wrong.
Army would have been needed to fill the role so put another 50,000 troops into Government offices and all departments from borders till next elections.
He is just another ordinary general with the rank of a commander.
And that fits the TRUE CRITERIA under which the pakistani generals are selected to lead the military by the civilian govt---.
Nawaz Sharif hit the nail on the head this time. He is the dream come true that Nawaz wanted.
I know that you harbour hard feelings for Pakistani Military leadership of all three branches. It boils me with rage seeing some of your replies (not Raheel shareef specific) however you are double my age so i try my best not to abandon the respect factor from my replies.
