Chief of the Army Staff General Raheel Sharif telephoned Saudi Deputy Prince and Defence Minister Muhammad bin Salman al-Saud, condemning the series of suicide attacks that hit the kingdom on Monday.

According to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), media wing of the army, General Raheel Sharif chief expressed sympathy to the families affected by the terrorist attacks.

“We stand by our Saudi brothers in their fight against terrorism,” the army chief told the Saudi defence minister.

You missed the point.......he called to Defense Minister not Foreign or Interior Minister............Also both the countries share brotherly relations so there is no politics in this....

Pakistan's Defence Minister should be making the call to his counterpart in Saudi Arabia, not the Army Chief. It just raises the question who is actually running things in Pakistan while the PM languishes in London: the civilians or the military?

May be Modi is right in this regard: India can't talk to Pakistan because they don't know who to talk to.
