First when you are in that area and leave without Umrah pretty bad thing and finally what I know is COAS did estimate the cost of Umra also which he himself paid. @Jango

Wow!! I am impressed and yes. Had it been Nawaz Shariff, people would've issued religious Fatwa's on here on how "his highness" get an escort in Mecca!! Pure double standards in Pakistan. No matter where you look!!

Its like every group wants all the power to themselves, without thinking about the country and working and giving respect to each other. Here's an example of the SAME crappy mentality. Its not about Pakistan or a "NATION". Its ALWAYS about some group, who wants all the power and fame. Be it IK, Military, or anyone else.

How terrible would it be for people to ignore personal things and judge each other with the right scale. I.E, what did someone do in their time of service, for the country. If they didn't show progress, you have a right to complain about them. But for God's sake, rise above "my guy vs. his" and "the military is more powerful than Civilians" or IK speaks the Bible or Kor'an stuff. Why not measure them on what they are and will be doing for the country and the nation??

He apparently travelled in a jet which had 'Pak Army' markings on it, pics are all over social media. Many head of the states travel in state owned jets so Nawaz really isn't doing something out of the ordinary when he does as well, not prudent considering our finances but following the norm.

Question is, how many head of the armies in the world fly around in a jet like a head of a state?

You are right, but I still say he gained and gaining more respect. Also, that is one of the reason I pray he never get involved in government or politics.

Knowing how incompetent our politicians are, I don't mind army keeping them on their toes by applying pressure in the background but this overt display of formulating and controlling the foreign policy is disgraceful.

I agree with him on NAP but if he really wants to tun Pak around, he should start first by introducing reforms and accountability in the army. Only then, he will earn the right to ask the politicians to get their act together as well.

Hajj is done once a year and mandatory if you are financially and socially able to. Umrah is recommended and can be done at anytime. Also, the rituals are different between the two.

I agree with you! But I'm talking about officially dictating it. Our people push the COAS to come and take over the country in crucial time & later they start bashing him. That was my point. . He shouldn't get involved in politics like directly. It's broken but has name of democracy.

Nobody pushes the army, the army comes in because a) the civilian government is incompetent and b) the army wants to keep presenting itself as the savior. The army is as much part of the problem as anyone because it's part of the system.

The army won't do any radical reforms because the generals have as much addiction for power as the politicians. The current system suits the army because it gives it maneuvering space so they tweak it every now and then when it gets outa control but never really fix it.
