If you observe U.S. Presidential elections, you don't have any impact whatsoever unless you live in one of the few battleground states. If you live in a battleground state, you should consider a wide range of issues before deciding whom to vote. Single issue voters generally get disappointed as reality works differently from expectation. As for as U.S. - Israel foreign policy is concerned, it is so bipartisan that honestly whom you vote does not matter. Much of the nitty gritty is done by Congress and your ability as a voter to influence a policy is even more miniscule when decisions are made by 535 politicians.

Closing the strait delays but the adjustment will take no longer than a month. 99% of countries have strategic reserves of food so the damage can be mitigated. As I said, the IDF is terrible and incompetent on the ground. How do you send tanks and APCs without infantry support? Especially when you know your enemy has no tanks but just light infantry? How would the IDF do against a regular land army? The only thing they can do it bomb from the skies, but as time progresses these jets will also not be safe. Alternative routes are uneconomical.
The entire world felt a major shock with inflated food prices just by the Russian Liberation War against Ukraine. That inflation still hasn't recovered. There is no alternative route for Russian and Ukrainian grain. Food inflation hit very hard in North America, with no recovery to date.

I'm not surprised he hasn't done this yet, but by now Sisi (actually a few weeks ago) should've booted out the Israeli ambassador and withdrawn the Egyptian one. The only reason I can think of why he hasn't done it is the embassy is needed to conduct communications for the border crossing to get the aid through along with keeping contact with Abbas and the WB. I don't think communicating with Hamas is the embassy's role, that's done straight through Egyptian intelligence through secured comms. is my guess. But those two reasons are the only reason I can think of. Had he expelled & recalled the ambassadors, it would have gone a long way and showed something, besides pushing for the aid to get through and calling for a cease fire.

I think it should be rephrased for accuracy. Nation states have much to lose from helping Gaza militarily. No risk providing humanitarian aid, diplomatic support etc., And yes, a coalition will have stronger impact than individual states as they are small on international scale and impact.

I think a huge number of Afghans went to Pakistan. If many did not go, probably because they lived in countryside removed from war. At least Afghanistan is a large mountainous country, and they don't have a lot of places to go easily. Gazans could have easily gone to any of the Arab neighboring countries if life was as intolerable as in Ukraine or Syria or Lebanon or Libya. But I don't think it has happened.
