Operatives of the Garud Commando Force have been deployed in forward locations along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in eastern Ladakh, Lok Sabha MP from the Union Territory Jamyang Tsering Namgyal said on Monday.
A border standoff between the Indian and Chinese militaries had erupted in eastern Ladakh on May 5, 2020, following a violent clash between the two sides in the Pangong lake area.

"Armed with Negev Light Machine Guns, Tavor-21 & AK-47 assault rifles, Garud Special Forces operatives have been deployed in forward locations along the Line of Actual Control in Eastern Ladakh," the BJP MP wrote on Twitter.

"Thanks @narendramodi Ji @rajnathsingh Ji and team Modi Sarkar," he added.

The Garud Commando Force is the special forces unit of the Indian Air Force.

On August 6, the Indian Army announced that the armies of both countries have completed the disengagement process and restored the pre-standoff ground position at the Gogra friction point in eastern Ladakh, in yet another forward movement towards overall improvement of the situation in the area.

The disengagement process at Patrolling Point-17A (PP-17A) or Gogra was carried out around five months after the two sides conducted a similar exercise on the north and south bank areas of the Pangong lake, when they withdrew troops and weapons from the friction points. PTI DSP RC

India really is deploying many men, aircraft and tanks there. This is great news ands in fact may be exactly what the Chinese wanted.

IAF had to cancel it's largest exercise due to LAC commitments. Now imagine the wear and tear on men and equipment. Troops will have to rotate in and of LAC then be deployed to LOC, shorter time off will erode morale. Tanks will need overhauling and replacing and of course heavy hours on airframes. Training will inevitably take a hit as small fleets like the MIG-29, Rafales and M2Ks will all be rotated through (all of this in addtion to LOC commitments).

The cost of all of the above will also lead to money coming out of the equipment budget.

Chinese have played a blinder here. An overstretched Indian military now facing the logistics and costs of two live fronts.

How can training be effected when the dual seat trainer jets are not deployed there.
You are imagining scenarios and dreaming about favourable outcomes…! Good luck with that.

Tragically I bet you thought this post made you sound clever when you first wrote it right? Youi do know what modern combat training consists of right? Please tell me you are not as ignorant as we all suspect you are.

Training also means combat exercises. When you are burning through airframe hours and need to maintanence time on airframes for LOC/LAC Ops this means scheduled training suffers, a major reason IAF had to call off it it's Gagan Shakti exercises.

If reality seems to upset you best you lay off the forum for a while....
