What's new

Future of Pakistan Bangladesh relations

I think they want you to tour them first or guarantee such etc.

Are you willing to?
No team goes to tour at Pakistan. If it's in UAE then I think we should otherwise we should do what others do....unlike Pakistan we do get home series'

I think it's right to say Pakistanis don't have hatred for Bangladeshis, instead there is actual love for Bengalis

Umm?
I am rather sad we didn't did that deed. But I am sure your dream of 0.2million rapes and 3 million killed comes true someday.
What apology do you expect from British Pakistanis of whom you have great interaction with? Many Brit Pakistani have nothing to do with Pakistani history books nor the education system in Pakistan. The vast majority of Brit Paks originate from rural heartlands of Punjab and Azad Kahsmir. Communities that are certainly not diverse as Karachi which has dozens of communities such as Rohingya Bangladeshis Farsis Afghans Indians Baloch Pashtuns Arabs etc. If you feel so strong about an apology why don't you protest out the Pak high commission in London?

I don't think anyone in BD expects British Pakistanis to apologize. I don't think anyone wants Pakistani people to apologize. What we want is a formal apology from Pakistani govt which would help to improve the relation. But which is something you're not gonna do. So relation will remain as it is. Cold but not hostile.

Pakistan despite facing the Cricket problem , has held numerous International Football/Squash/Table tennis/Tennis/Wrestling events since last year . infact Much more western artists/Musicians/Celebrities come to Pakistan compared to Bangladesh despite having the image of being unsafe . In July Football Stars like Ronaldinho , John Terry And Anelka are coming here for exhibition matches . Last month we had numerous Ex WWE stars coming to Pakistan .

Yeah...but I was talking about cricket. It seems you guys find it hard to play a series at home.

Try nations like England, Australia or SA first. If they start visiting then we'll too. Does BCCI block them as well? Ah well then you are in a tough position. Good luck

.
The thread starter should really focus on Pakistan - Fiji relations as compared to Pak - Bongla relations. There is more future in that than Pak - Bongla relations.

It is considered a past and we have no intentions of looking back but only forward.

There is an icc team visiting for t 20 including players from all team Indian and English along with others ...it is opportunist to Agree and then decline which Bangladesh did

I think there is no future of Pakistan-Bangladesh relationships because:

1: People in Bangladesh know Pakistan and Pakistanis as oppressor, rapist, radicalized or hostile (Note 1).
2: Both countries lack any significant products or willingness to trade: though we are, unilaterally, trying to keep this link up but I think this is already dead link.
3: Secondly, most people, in Pakistan, don't know anything about Bangladesh and those who know don't want to know anything - that is very good thing because I think being neutral is better than being taken by hatred (Note 2).
4: There is no significant strategic or geo-political interest in each other for either of the countries.
5: Given above reasons, this is not going to change because Bangladesh is far from Pakistan.

Note 1: Hatred and spreading hatred towards Pakistan makes sense because thinking or doing otherwise would defy their logic for separate foundation. They need to promote something as source of nationalism and their govt. as successful at exploiting it.
Note 2: For about 27 years of my life, I didn't know much about Bangladesh accept this is some country in the world. All I could remember from my Pak. Studies course is that "there was east wing of Pakistan where India hatched conspiracy and it was separated from us by Indian forces. A couple of years ago I came across some video that was about Bangladesh vs Pakistan. I wanted to overlook but there was too much hatred in video and comment sections that induced me dig deeper and see even more hatred. I got to talk to some people from Bangladesh but it only caused the deterioration in my neutrality towards Bangladesh. So, I suggest all Pakistani fellows to stay away from such discussion or linkage, it our past, just bury it and move on.

This is not true. Bangladesh is actually 8th largest destination of Pakistani export.Loosing one of the top 10 export market will not be a good strategy for Pakistan specially when it's export earning growth is negative for some years. Plus we have no qualm to maintain diplomatic and trade relation with Pakistan. If Pakistan think otherwise than it is unfortunate. But we will not do that which was confirmed by the FM of BD

Hmm, we lack any significant products or willingness to trade, I think $700 Million isn't much in terms of national figures. However, decline in textile exports is basically due to increasing costs at home. Due to electricity shortages, textile mills have to keep their units up on back up generators and it costs much more. Because most of these things exported from Pakistan had to be re-exported to some other country - it lost competitive edge on price. That is the only reason of overall decline of textile industry here as well.
