Uber is a hoax and i would never usw it. Its banned in many european countries anyways. It breaks laws when it wants and acts basicly criminal to push its agenda. I dont support this.

Almost all major cities in the west had comprehensive taxi service. Uber had a disruptive effect on these well established cab systems. That's why Western city governments have beef with Uber. But in our cities there was no proper cab service. So Uber is a boon for us.

The concepts of risk and insurance are unknown to pakistanis. Here uber drivers earn well over Rs 50k /month and that's like a dream income for taxi drivers.

Well the taxi service over here is an organized racket so it's just shifting the profits from one entity's pocket to another.

To show you how dumb the taxi service has gotten in some cities the price of the "medallion" (a license authorizing a cab to be on the street) had gotten up over $500,000. Investors were buying the medallions and renting them out. Some retirement plans actually invested in buying these medallions because their prices were going up faster than the stock market.

You can imagine how this affected taxi fare prices. You couldn't get in one without paying $10.

When Uber came a long the medallion prices tanked and people started crying over lost investment money. Of course they all lined up demanding the government stop this "horrific" Uber company. Local governments tried to block Uber...but the courts allowed them.

So my opinion...hey if the prices aren't a complete ripoff how can I argue against Uber?
