yes auto insurance is mandatory other wise if you are found driving your vehicle without auto insurance covernote you will be fined minimum of Rs : 2000/- for the first offence & you have to pay minimum 10-12% of the total ammount issured + second party insurance+service charges + tax

Is it comprehensive insurance or just the third party insurance. In Paistan only third party insurance is mandatory, which is just a formality. But most of the owners of new vehicles buy comprehensive insurance. If you lease finance, then it is compulsory as per terms of lease.

comprehensive insurance is mandatory , third party is of no value only coustmor's with very old vehicel's go for it (more than 5-10 year old & mostly second hand used)

Not true at all. Insurance doesnt exist. Having a car insurance isnt mandatory in india. Its up to the owner to buy the insurance. Most of the car accidents are reported in big cities. People living in smaller cities dont even know about car or other types of insurance. People living in rural areas dont care about insurance, they dont even have a car license
