From Russia With Love? China vs. India Carrier Showdown

China is now gaining the experience with the Varyag and then will also construct two conventional 70,000 tonne carriers soon. This will give around 10 years experience before the supercarriers are ready in around a decades time.

I will scream if any idiot here keeps going on about "experience" again as the US destroyed the far more experienced Japanese carrier fleet in WW2.

Did you have any idea about what really happened during the war and how the US got lucky again and again or are you just babbling here. So you are saying that they will have the design and the work done on two ACC in a decade, when they have no experience in building an ACC or operating one.

Please listen as I will not explain again.

A new employee starts work and it may take him 2 years to reach say 95% of the max level for that job.

That new employee could possible reach 80% of the maximum level for that job in 6 months.

What I am trying to say is that the Chinese would be very foolish to take on an experienced Navy with little or no experience but a decades experience should allow then to reach a good level of skill in carrier ops.

The Chinese have extensively studied the Varyag and apart form the hull it is a completely new ship. They should have very little problem using this knowledge to build larger carriers. As regards nuclear supercarriers, that should be no problem as their nuclear power technology is now much more advanced than what the US had when they built their first nuclear carriers in the 1970s.

China does not work on other's timetable, it has a speed all of it's own.

China is already working on a stealth aircraft for naval use. 2020 is around the time-frame when it should be ready.

You need to get your head round that the world's largest economy economy by 2020, which will be China, will need to construct a Naval fleet to defend it's interests around the world. If this means going toe-to-toe with the US, then so be it.

I am sorry but India is absolutely no match for the Chinese and in 10 years the Chinese Navy will have full dominance over the Indian Navy in the Indian Ocean.

Stealth carrier? Got any links to that or evidence to that?

.
LOL @ the Indians with their misplaced optimism.

China has a massive technology lead and we are likely to see 100,000 tonne nuclear Chinese supercarriers by around 2020. These carriers could easily carry around 60 Chinese stealth fighters.

Unless the US sells one to India, then one Chinese supercarrier could potentially take on the whole Indian carrier fleet.

Indians love to have very wet dreams.

:rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:1st tell them to complete the refits for varyag..:coffee:

3 ACCs within the next decade and the 50+ years of expertise that Indian navy carries with it in managing ACCs is too hot to handle for Chinese navy which is still on the verge of having its first ACC .

Coupled with the fact that India has its thousands of KM of natural ACC in Andaman and nicobar Islands acts as a force multiplier vis a vis China which will be forced to squeeze through the narrow channels of SCS

P

China does not work on other's timetable, it has a speed all of it's own.

Are you a chinese mouthpiece , do you know more than the chinese themselves about by when and what Chinese army will be coming up with ?

IMHO the IN has the clear edge over the PLA(N) wrt carrier ops for the coming decades.

....and how is that so?

How many successful carrier borne operations has India actually conducted in real time war? Just because you parked an old hulk, doesn't mean you have mastered the art.

.
India has wartime experience with utilizing AC. India has regional needs and concentrating on medium sized AC that doesn't mean in anyway their operational capabilities will be affected. India with systems like barak ng and operational fighter squadrons will enjoy the lead for near future. if we get emals things will change a lot.

Strange how you dont see the experience and expertise of having ACC for 50+ yrs as any advantage at all compared to not having at all !

Remember Chittagong harbor bombing in 1971 and Kargil war blockade of Karachi...these are the major deployments of IN ACC.

We refit Vayag by our own, i bet India is not able to do it.

We never bought the Gorshkov telling it will be converted into a floating casino.

You brought it by lying to the world that it will be a floating casino .... what is the guarantee that Ukraine is not helping you refit it with their outdated technology !!! ;)

It was supposed to be a casino, but we changed our mind later. What is the problem?
