My French is getting rusty, I thought he said 'fish' instead of 'poison'.Heh its those same two french crooks from season 1 where Bart goes to France as exchange trip.
"all ze bad child labour stuff...more bad stuff.....anti freeze in wine..."
Gendarme: Anti freeze in wine?!?!? Sacre-bleu!
That nuance you didnt quite get as a kid
BTW how did they do this episode in French for the French/English difference bit? Just give a really weird accent to the French parts or something?

Good I wasn't the only one to see that.
Nope,at all haha ! In the French version,Bart is normally talking as in any other episode. The officer is asking Bart what is he doing outside with this weather. Bart replies "if you are a policeman please help me,I come from Springfield,I have been sent by my school I have to stay here another two months,I have enough,I want to go back,I am unhappy."
The officers gives him the candy and Bart replies "I don't want any candy,I just want to go back home, please sir, listen". He replies "Sorry,I can nothing for you,but don't worry,2 months will be quickly gone".
Bart then says "Nevermind". He walks away and says "This cop is rubbish,he didn't listen to me,all he did was to give me a candy." "Oh it's my fault too,why telling him about my school, should have said I was mistreated first..... Oh! And I should have told him about the poison in the wine !"
Then you have exactly the same scene, however the voices are very different. Even the two criminals have different voices in the French version. Oh and it's not 'antifreeze',but 'antigel'.
When they go inside the police truck Bart says "Adieu, sales fripouilles!"
Amazing the differences depending on the versions, isn't it ?
No one can beat officer Crabtree when it comes to murdering French, nothing can beat British humor..
Allo Allo was da best . The pimps are not workingpainting with the big boobies
It was actually the Forlorn Madonna with the big boobies..
Allo Allo, Fawlty towers, Black adder, Dads army, Are you been served ?, Benny Hill show, The two Ronnies... Classic Brit comedies that cannot be surpassed for the smart wit they dished out, No American sit com even come close to these masterpieces as far as i know.. I'm thankful for my dad for getting VHS series to watch when we were kids growing up.. Btw John Cleese is a living legend
you forgot one. These dastardly and dodgy tradesmen from Peckham London. No matter how many times you watch it it never gets old.
