If you have to go back 2000 years to really judge a nations military capability then Mongolia must have the best military in the world now.

He did not do that,he summarised french (or pseudo french better said") military history which has its ups and downs but if you draw a line you'll have a glorious past and present.

This is why the battlegroup concept was made up for. It envolves around a concept of neighbouring countries that have cultural, linguistic, even procurement ties forming a fully functioning "army" that can work on the move with all assets.
Also, one of the benefits of having a proffesional army is the fact you can preselect people with English skills. Officer cadre especially, but most likely also normal soldiers.

I assume they'll be getting the money required for any remaining R&D through Brazilian contract, and the motivation through recent Russian actions. Oh i forgot, SAAB signed with Turkish TAI for "assistance" in development of their own domestic fighter. I assume it will be stealth as well, so more experience for them.

In the last 100+ years is pretty split in my opinion.Good performance in WW1,bad in WW2 (where we have exceptions such as De Gaulle's Army),good in Vietnam (the problem was numbers and unwillingness to reinforce them),good in the last operations.

That would be a great hope. Even at it current strength, the Flygvapnet (Swedish Air Force ) boats a fleet of over 80 Jas Gripens in their inventory, and over 70 are on order. The Finnish Air Force has over 60 units of the FA-18s, the Norwegian Air Force fields 50 units of the F-16 Fighting Falcons, the Danish Air Force fields 30 units of F16s. This is the reason why any fears of any Russian tank threats can be negated because with Air superiority in the region, the combined air fleets of the Nordic Battle Group can turn any tank corp into ash.

Note that this is just the Northern Battle Group's capabilities. We are not even considering the Visegrad Battle Group, or the militaries of Germany, Italy, France, Spain, United Kingdom.

And much , much more.

French Navy + Royal Navy + Germany Navy + Italian Navy + Spanish Navy is an impressive force. This is not even considering the US Navy's 6th and 5th Fleets that can be called to the region at any notice.

The navy is still in modrenization,in 2020 (or before),we'll have one of the most modern navy.
But it also depends on the high professionalism of the sailors on the ships.

In fact I hope to see greater military cooperation between NATO/ENF with that of the JMSDF.

Mongolia had one incredible 200 yr stretch in their history in the middle ages.Nothing before-nothing since.I gave an example of all of france's major wars from ancient to modern age.Try to comprehend the difference.
