What's new

France ? You'll like it !

Those lavender fields look so beautiful!
thanks for sharing these lovely images.

The smell of lavender fields are even better than they look :D

One of my favourite songs about la ville lumiere:

"Paris will always be Paris....the most beautiful town in the world"

Vive la France!

What is the cost of living there?

That's always complicated to answer. Let's just say that quality foods are as cheap as junk food in the US.
You can get very decent camembert at the supermarket for less than 2 Euro. In the US, for 2 bucks, you
get a decent size slab of something rectangular and vaguely squishy that often completes the mimetism
by actually tasting like a sponge too. A decent camembert will be 5$.

A car is usually less expensive in America though so it depends how many of each you eat per week, I guess?

We enjoy life more than possession on average. Fine by me!

G'day mate, Tay.

P.S. Oh! And check our holiday/vacations/paid off-leave rates ...

It is indeed a lovely country, with a varied landscape. I've always enjoyed my time there.

Haha, i love the way you put it! :P

Though there are now increasingly regionally/locally made cheeses (at least here in Canada) that gives more options beyond the generic 2 dollar "sponge" :D. There is a strong dutch cheese presence not very far from where I live where they make some good Gouda, Edam etc.... though I tend to prefer to treat myself to proper French and Italian cheeses when they are available at my local store and baker :)....but still variety is better here than most of North America.

Lol, of course you can invade but you will have to get past @Vauban and @Taygibay formiddle chaps.

The French women are stunning and very sleek, feminine etc. I used to spend my time chatting up the French Moroccan girls there and the native ones. :p: They used to laugh at my crappy French.

.
Canada is multicultural and wide-open to the world's cultures.
Food's still lower in France though but water is mostly free in the GWN.

Where are you BTW? QC, ON or BC with the rest of the indo-asians? ;)

Read you, Tay.

They are Dutch as far as I am aware. They even come with a windmill picture on them over here.

Some are acquired taste, they put caraway seeds in them and things.

Swiss Cheeses are somewhat different. We get Emmental, appenzeller and a few others here that are imported. They are somewhat expensive. There is also generic swiss cheese made by kraft and some others....which is cheap and does the job for a sandwich.....but not good on its own :P

I am on ON, QC border hehe...in Ottawa area. I can see QC from my window, though i am in ON. But this neighbourhood is very strong French character and presence.

Often I go to Montreal too for work. Une tres belle ville ;)
