Indians seem to be more focused on shouting "we're a future superpower" than actually doing something that would take them further than China.

we know what we are doing..and that why we know where we will stand in future..the problem is you dont want to recgnise it...going further than China is not in our mind right now, cause thats not possibe in many coming years....but growing ourselves as much as we can is the goal...

Like making peace within the neighborhood. India does not maintain cordial ties with Sri Lanka in the south, with Bangladesh in the east, with China in the north and east. Only Pakistan seems to be the lone friend on the west

BD,Sri Lanka has greater trade ties with India than the friend in the west..resulting in growth of all these nations including India...about China..you got to learn more about the emerging India China ties.....am sure that will amaze you..

Indeed India has made a lot of ground on economic front, but there are still grounds the size of Jupiter to cover. Corruption from bottom to top is only one hurdle (like Pakistan). For more, there are so many different political ideologies, social systems, religious communities and nationalistic peoples, that it would be next to impossible for India to ever match China.

you r confusing. Both countries have big problems. The thing that both countries have done (china better than India) is to get the economy straightened out. But while India has all these ridiculous caste nonsense, China's huge problem is to try to become democratic....trust me that is one helluva problem. If they're lucky the shift will happen peacefully or else it will be unimaginably explosive.

But don't you Indians have enough on your platter already? Terrorism, corruption and poverty are much higher than what is there in Brazil and China. I think that first you need to sort out your internal problems and then definitely look forward to play a role in the world affairs.

No, now a days, it is hard to differentiate between internal and external problems. Terrorism is one such example. Anyway why should India reject invitation by leading countries to play its rightful place in world affairs
