France Offers 2 Quick Scorpenes, DCNS 'Worried' About DRDO's AIP

who knows i may give usmle and move there too
for the effort u spend studying u get nothing in return here.
and then they say that its the moral duty of doctors and they should not be greedy!!
i mean a person who starts earning after spending 8-9 years should not worry about money??give me a break

useless planning of course,what else??
chillax bro! no matter hard we try...people will never look at our end of the story...and wat we go thru...all da besr for ur exam!

i am sure they will still build it early than us,lol

As of now, submarines are the bigest priority, with or without AIP. Whether they have faith in DRDO's AIP or not, they should get the subs. Add the AIP once it is avilable, or get them with AIP directly. But get the subs.

Not at all, it doesn't get us anything to get new SSKs, without modern weapons and systems, otherwise we could simply get 2nd hand U209s, or Kilo subs. The first procurement of subs without AIP was silly enough and we would make it only worse if we take Scorpenes without AIP again!
The problem clearly is the DRDO AIP development, they might even had vetoed any procurement of foreign AIP, claiming they could develop such a propulsion too, but I would blame IN and MoD to accept that in first place. So getting subs from France directly is no problem, but it needs to be with AIP and should be part of the P75I procurement, so not only 2 but 6 in total with 4 added to the Indian productionline.

but Indian Navy is optimistic on the AIP developed by DRDO.

I highly doubt that, in fact it was reported that they had issues with the U214, because of the fuel cell AIP with hydrogen fuel and if DRDO develops a similar one, how should they be optimistic about it? Even the Simens is moving away from this type of AIP system and to a mentanol base newly developed. So IF IN wanted to add indigenous AIP to subs in the first P75, procuring 2 to 3 U214s with German AIP and adding the indigenous but similar AIP to the last 3 is far more logical than procuring a sub that was not developed for such a system. Even now it hardly makes any sense to develop such a system and add even more Scorpenes, while we could look at getting U216s in the long run and integrate not only DRDOs AIP, but also Brahmos to it. It's all just a mix of poor procurement policy of IN/MoD and hope to develop a high end tech by DRDO.

drdo cannot develop aip overnight.
we all know drdo, had they even been to midway of project they would have been announcing that at the beats of the drum.
it hasen't happened and nobody knows the status really.

u are right, its uber foolishness to opt a sub without aip,,,,,on the contrary i may add that diesel subs with aip are better than noisy ssbn and ssn's and its a proven fact.now its another story that they are small with limited strike capability(in general)

Before taking pot shots, you should be qualified enough to know the complexities of systems in question. If high efficiency military grade Fuel Cells were as easy to make like they show in Youtube videos, every one would have been living off the grid now.

It's like making shondesh!!! or so it seems

also add that diesel submarines are very slow thus not suitable for escort ACs in CBG.
