PARIS (Reuters) - France launched a new air strike overnight in Syria against an Islamic State training camp and further strikes will follow, Defense Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian said on Friday.

"France hit Daesh (Islamic State) in Syria last night in Raqqa... It is not the first time, nor will it be the last time," Le Drian said on Europe 1 radio.

"French Rafale jets delivered bombs on this training camp and the targets were met," he added.

"We struck because we know that in Syria, particularly around Raqqa, there are training camps for foreign fighters whose mission is not fight Daesh on the Levant but to come to France, in Europe to carry out attacks," he said.

Ahh so they confirm that they are not interested in fighting the terror in the Middle East but only target those who may turn on their backers.

NATO make me laugh a lot
so many countries wants to bomb
but never the effectiveness of Russia

How is it possible? US and its coalition are bombing ISIS yet they are advancing? Maybe they bomb someone other?
They're advancing because you're bombing their enemies.

They all look like terrorists so what is the difference ? Once they are bombed then it is ISIS turn to face massive bombings.

If ISIS defeats the other militias then they control most of the country. There's no way they could be stopped then without a major ground offensive. It'll be like the USSR in Afghanistan. However "tough" Russians like to claim they are they won't stomach a repeat.

Really? So all the advances that IS made in the past year when U.S was bombing them means U.S was actually helping IS and bombing their enemies, right?

ISIS in Syria lost 10 percent of their territory. Not a huge turnaround but not an advance. Until now.

Seems like every super power is participating in the syrian war against ISIS to test their weapons in the battle field. Make the weapon battle tested, get more orders and improve your economy.

May India send in a couple of LCA and MKI and test those platforms out :D
