Thats because few members only tends to troll and post in members section and does not contribute in serious discussion, and then reap the benefit only avilable to heigher post count members(senior/elite etc. based on post count).

The reply field at the bottom of the threads is no more there, and when I click "reply with quote" the advanced reply format shows up and not the usual quick "reply with quote" right under the post i am quoting.

I have exactly same problem, its lot more tedious to post in advanced reply format.
