Former President APJ Abdul Kalam Admitted to ICU in Shillong: Sources
Shillong: Former President APJ Abdul Kalam was today admitted to a hospital in Shillong after he suddenly fell ill during a function.

Mr Kalam, 84, was rushed to a hospital, M Kharkrang, Superintendent of Police Khasi Hills, said.

Mr Kalam served as the 11th President on India from 2002 to 2007.

“The former president was brought almost dead to our hospital. He is in a critical condition.

We are trying to revive the patient," John Sailo Ryntathiang, director of Bethany Hospital, said. "He is in the Intensive Care Unit. We are examining him. We suspect that it could be cardiac arrest," Sailo said. — Agencies
