Convicted of what? Treason? Man these sort of trash filtered through Bangladesh army too where I’ve heard who families getting kicked out of cantonment for expressing criticism of something related to army.

Some reputable people here on PDF are shooting the messenger (BBC Urdu and me) instead of debating the story at hand. If this story is false, Pakistan Army as a professional department can sue BBC Urdu for defamation. If they don't do that or even refute this story through ISPR, it means they want to put a lid on it.
Have you ever seen army or ISPR taking any media house to court?

Matter is much more serious, real thing is hardly being reported.... Let's keep it that way.
It would be surprising if it were so - at best a severe reprimand and a threat would be the modus operandi. Here a serving marine lt. col kept going onto youtube and posting criticism and was generally given slaps on his wrist before being taken to task.

If the matter is more serious and BBC Urdu has jumped into it earlier then others than the media arm of the UK government must have a good reason too.

What is not mentioned here is that son was also paet if Pakistan army. What he did was a severe voilation of Armys code of conduct. Army is not a political organisation and if wants to be political he should have quit and joined politics. He was judged fairly and deserved the punishment.

Are u all people brainless or what.. If this would have been the case 90% of noon league would have been in jail and pashteen party sent to gallows. Look at your state people. BBC urdu reports and u all have believed just like (nauzbillah) it's a Quranic verse. I know army officers criticizing the Chief in live sessions, nothing happened to them. It's something more than meets the eye.
Have you ever seen in history of Pakistan that some body getting jailed that too for five years for just writing a letter.. Even it was not done in dictatorship. Wow salute to those who believe in it

Exactly my point anything from geo, BBC and voice america is with an agenda ... If letter js the basis of jail pdf management and some of the members should atleast get threatening calls ...

The person jailed is also not some common man. He is son of major general and in army even after retirement respect of senior is always there.

So i will this news with a pinch of salt.

Furthermore, when will we start countering these anti Pakistan media houses. They r destroying us internally ..

You think Noon league and Pashteen party members and affiliates aren't given not-so-nice-calls, visits and days-weeks long "holidays" from the 🚙?

Just because BBC reported an alleged reason it must be true ..... ???

I don't know when members will learn to question the articles and news stories ...
It is true his own father has confirmed it, regarding the apprehension of his son, the FIR's etc.
Matter is much more serious, real thing is hardly being reported.... Let's keep it that way.
Yeah it is pertinent to note that he sent multiple letters to multiple officers including Bajwa, 2 and 3 stars, plus the allegations are pretty serious in that he was supposedly inciting mutiny/revolt according to the article.
Though what doesn't help is the lack of transparency in this all which causes a ripe environment for speculation.

Threatening mutiny by writing letters directly to the Brass?

absolutely shameful. army should be subservient to civilians and not the other way round. in a case involving a civilian and the army, it should be civil courts that hold the hearing. also, a letter isnt something to be jailed over.
He can’t be a civilian if he was court martial led, surely.
He himself must be a soldier.
