SAARC is a waste of time with Pakistan continuously obstructing any major development within that body. The past governments of India also seem to be a waste of time when it came to Pakistan. All they did was pass proposals at SAARC and when Pakistan shot those down, they would shrug their shoulders and wait for the next SAARC gathering. The BJP has adopted the correct policy towards Pakistan which is effectively that Pakistan is insignificant to India and to the region. This suggestion of excluding Pakistan from any trade and infrastructure improvements is to be welcome. Honestly, in the current times what exactly can Pakistan bring to the table? Not much. Exit Pakistan and the region can grow with India.

That all of pakistan's population centers, farming, mining and industries are lined up along India's borders. The only way to trade inbound and outbound with SA and beyond is through India.
