Foreign air lines to start operations in pakistan

I think you lack comprehension of reality. As a customer, I would expect service for what I pay; PIA offers horrible service compared to other flights. Even if PIA was cheaper, I would not pay a dime because I am not getting the value out of it as I am in other flights. Only people like you can live in a wonderland and think that had been oil prices cheap, PIA would have been leading, no sir, no easy routes, only the hard way and that is the long way, get the PIA damn service redone, its planes better maintained, timings more respected, customer service better, in flight entertainment more on par, then we can even talk about oil prices.

And yet no other airline can get people from Toronto to IBD/LHE/KHI in 13 hours (and back). :D

And if direct flights to USA are allowed again, it will be unmatched.

You know it reminds me of when one has to decide between renting a car or going by bus when having to have to go to a village from a city in Pakistan. The bus could get me there in 1 hour, but the experience is so freaking horrible, I would stick with renting a car even if it takes 2 hours.

Service is the determining factor in getting customers in the 21st century, it is a materialistic world. Although that advantage of much earlier timing over other flights would no doubt help, but on par services in-flight is what will get the real number of customers.

Fun fact: In many airlines, including Emirates, one of the perks of having a business ticket is that you are personally greeted by the crew by your name. As dumb as it sounds, it is true, and just goes to show how much little things matter to the people of today who prefer to be pampered each step.

It depends on what is valued more - time, or service. If one only has a few days to get to Pakistan and back, nothing beats PIA. And there service is actually not as bad as it is made out to be. Yes, the planes are old, but the staff are very good.

Its relative. How are the staff in comparison to the other staff of other airlines though?
The early timing may be good but is it comfortable?
What about entertainment - movies, music, games, satellite internet services, meals quality, quality of interior?

All factors to be considered, PIA lags behind, it isn't magical or unfortunate that PIA is not doing good, they are not doing good because they are not doing something right, we need to accept this instead of making excuses otherwise the airliner will never get the overhaul it needs to lift off. PIA used to be a great airliner back in the 60s and for many more years, something brought its downfall and it sure as hell wasn't the oil prices which customers couldn't give two hoots about.

Overall, there is lots of room for improvement for PIA, I agree with you. But its direct routes are simply unmatched.

still waiting for your shred of evidence as to what makes emirates so sucessful.

you havennt been able to come up with one thing because you know why emirates is sucessful and thats due to tax breaks and subsidies alone.

i can do this all night if you want. Its no water off my back.

He isn't wrong, had you flown yourself, you would've seen, but you have not flown with Emirates so how can you see. You can keep saying and shouting like a crazy woman going "It's the oil! It's the oil! It's the oil!". You speak about subsidies, and cheap tickets but have you even seen the costs for Emirates flights for Asia, they are just as expensive. Their customers are there due to their customer service not because they freaking get subsidies, which customer cares about that shit.

still havent been able to come up with one reason why emirates is so sucessful compared to others and you want to talk about cluctching at straws.

anyway enjoy your cheap oil whilst it lasts, eventually you will know the truth.

Thanks to UAE, SAUDIA AND EGYPT due to which nationals and expatriates are suffering immeasurably.

So shouldn't PIA improve it's service, so that it can compete globally, instead of the govt protecting it?

IMO, it is better for the passengers.

It was very much possible, but we wanted to replace Musharraf with Zardari.

I hope ban on Indian airlines is not effected.

Just when you think PIA might be on the right track goverment wants to make its life harder.

BA is going to take away a big chunk of PIA business when they start their UK Islmabad route, taking the millions of kashmiris from UK to ISB

PIA is full of sindhi corrupt ppl until they dobt get fire nothing going to come goos out of it. Yes you can try but when there is 100 jobs opening ,400 ppl gets hired in name of bhutto.

yeah i saw this on the day, BA is being run terribly.

surely this couldnt be a piolt error. you would expect this kind of service from a 3rd world countries airline.

i flew BA from London Heathrow to Toronto Pearsons last month, im pretty sure i was being flown in 787 which was 20 years old, during take off from heathrow vents that are above the aisle fell down right in the middle of the aisle. ive never seen anything like it, had those vents fallen onto passengers they would be bleeding from their heads.
even the seats made out of cloth in economy were ripped and looked old. the TV screens were all standard television style and not LCD flat screens like you would expect.

For the money BA charge their planes and conditions are appauling
