Did u see the episode? Do u understand Urdu to know what type of humor it was? If u can understand Urdu and watch the episode u will see that him having the black skin tone isn't made fun of nor discussed in any manner at all.
Here he is as another character "Footballer from Makran"(Makran is in Balochistan, Pakistan)
Notice the same dark skin? What r u gonna say now that he is making fun of Pakistanis as well, even though both members of the show are Pakistanis themselves?
Here he is playing a female character...
So using ur logic...bcuz he changed his look to play a woman must somehow demean women right?
He even played some white CIA agent character or something like that. I remember seeing the episode but can't find it right now to link here. In this episode he used make up to make his skin lighter(since he had a brown skin tone). Does that mean he was making fun of or demeaning white ppl? No that episode was mocking Pakistan's politicians and how they r sell outs and dance to the tune of America.
This is what this show is all about...they talk about or bring up certain issues in Pakistan in an indirect satirical/comedic manner. If the shows creator Anwar Maqsood or Moeen Akhtar were racists as u r thinking then surely it would've showed in their other works. Anwar Maqsood has written a plethora of other things and Moeen Akhtar has done many tv shows/stage dramas(theatre)/etc...yet all of their works lack any such racism.
Sure u can feel superior about urself...go right ahead...but ur argument, on the basis of which u r looking down on this show/actor/Pakistanis and feeling superior about Bangladeshis, is flawed.
What exactly do u know about that black face thing done in Hollywood? Do u know why it was racist and different from this? It wasn't just about making the face black of some white actor who was to portray African Americans. They also made a mockery of African Americans...showing them as uncivilized or mannerless among other negative depictions of them. Other times it was to fit a certain narrative of racist white ppl of that day...like depicting them as singing/dancing around and being very happy while working in the fields...to convey the message of how they were happier/better off while they were slaving away at plantations. This along with many other reasons like refusing to cast them as actors(at that time) or depicting them wrongfully in Cartoons(with super big noses and what not) is what made all of this racist. So ur comparison of that with this is utterly wrong.
Malnourishement doesn't make one darker. The lightness/darkness of the skin is genetic and is entirely due to the amount of melanin in ur skin.
...and again no one is hating on/making fun of these ppl. If they came out of poverty and rose above with their talent then that's great...more power to them. U r the only one here drawing comparisons where none exist and passing ur judgement.
U can continue to think what u like. This is as far as I will go explaining to u that it's not what u think. If u r still unconvinced then go right ahead and continue having ur opinion...even though it's highly uninformed since u haven't actually watched the show(this one and other episodes) and idk if u even understand Urdu(to understand what's being talked about).
