FM Qureshi presents constitutional amendment bill for creating South Punjab

Finally!

We the people of bahawalpur don’t have to go to lahore for any kind of civil errands. We can go directly to Multan.

No more having to deal with slippery two faced lahoris that feed people donkeys in the guise of famous lahori cusine. Nor do we have to face the pollution or listen to that fruity punjabi dialect.

South Punjab will be more prosperous than central and north Punjab in coming decades.

Imran gets my vote.

I have read the opening post. I believe Punjab and Balochistan provinces should be divided into two provinces.

Very odd to bring it up at the same time - unless they are expecting some sort of steamrolling that not just crushes this no-confidence motion but passes this bill

Or are expecting to pair losing the government by saying opposition wants to deny southern Punjab its rights

A political move. Why couldn't this be done in last 3 years?

PTI had been in talks with the opposition since 3 years to try and get them onboard for this, and THEN table the resolution. But the opposition didn't play ball and were constantly blocking this.

Now PTI has appraoched a f*** it approach, and tabled the resolution regardless of whether the opposiiton is onboard or not.

Lol, constitutional amendment when you don’t even have a viable minority. Good one FM.

Ps, I’m pro devolution, but this is a lame stunt

We should learn from Turkey and Iran. They have smaller populations but have more administrative units for management whilst we have Punjab with 80million+ people managed by one CM. I would say make every City in to a administrative unit, then people should directly elect governor to manage it with his team, also elect all mayors for local administrative units.

The reason for every city as province is so we don't make provinces based on ethnicities etc. I strongly disagree with proposals like Muhajar province, Saraiki, Kashmiri province. This causes more division in a negative way. We already have 60+ cities, why not make all of them in to provinces. Let them directly elect a Governor, mayor etc. End of story.

Create 33 Supper Districts. Each administrative unit has a number as it’s name, for example
District 1
District 2
District 3

I swear to god and I am 1000% npt joking- I lol'ed at this like a mad man
Baloch tribes have taken over SP - they took over interior Sindh it's a crap hole, Baluchistan is for everyone to see
now since they took over SP it'll be another crap hole run by lotas and wadera class

if PTI dies you'll get PPP cancer who'll promote meme Saraiki "ethno" nationalism - and than you will be treated like how Urdu speakers are treated in Karachi by ethno nats in Sindh(in reality Baloch tribals disguising as sindhis )

In long run its heading towards becoming an ethnocentric craphole where they'll get votes by moaning - just like how it happens in interior Sindh
the day it becomes another province- especially if they named themselves sarikistan - gtfo is my sincerest advice

it'll never amount to anything and you'll be demonized- interior Sindh 2.0

My foreshadowing for the coming decades

Punjab Assembly already passed a resolution on South Punjab.

2/3 is not only required in Fed but also Sindh province to make Karachi province. Will People of Sindh gove 2/3 rs majority to PTI in 2023 election ?
Yes, but was it with two third majority or simple majority. Plz check it.

Saraiki is like punjabi. Very easy to pick up. Plus punjabis run the business in south Punjab anyways. Saraiki tanday mizaj de’aa.

There's no point in doing this one province at a time. It will be better to do it all in one go, along with a new constitution with a presidential system.

There used to be 37 "divisions" in Pakistan, each with capital city. That's the way to do it.

Divisions of Pakistan

The four provinces, capital territory and two autonomous territories of Pakistan are subdivided into 37 administrative "divisions", which are further subdivided into districts, tehsils and finally union councils. These divisions were abolished in 2000, but restored in 2008.

It was "passed". Passing require 2/3rd.

It will create too much chaos... New province will also need special funds fr fed for establishment of government and public infrastructures. Here we are talking about atleast 2 trillion PKR for each new province in a span of 5-8 years. You want 1 provided nice from Punjab, 1 from Sindh, 1 from Baluchistan simultaneously. Fed won't be able to financially support them and manage them and hence they won't be able to create the governmental structure and basis services for citizens. This is the part where crime rate, no go areas, lack of education etc surfaces.
