CPEC ships being guarded by navy vessels

Two ships carrying Chinese cargo left the Gwadar port under the protection of Pakistan Navy ships for the Middle East and Africa, according to a statement issued by the navy on Tuesday.

The statement said the cargo was brought in from the western Chinese town of Kashgar, under the pilot project of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), to the Gwadar port located in the southwest tip of Pakistan.

The cargo containers were subsequently put on board the MV Cosco Willington and MV Al Hussein which left the port accompanied by the Pakistani naval ships till they reached the international waters.

The navy, aware of its responsibility to make the maritime component of the CPEC and Gwadar port safe, deployed its ships and aircraft to provide security cover to ensure safe and secure transit of MV Cosco Willington and MV Al Hussein in the international waters, the statement said.

The CPEC project — with an investment of $46 billion and the Gwadar port as its lynchpin — will be a real game-changer and manifestation of strategic partnership between Pakistan and China.

Cognizant of these challenges, the navy accorded high priority to the security of the maritime components, Gwadar port, its approaches and sea lanes leading to and from the port, the statement added.

With the Gwadar port going into operation the maritime traffic to and from the port is expected to increase. So while providing security to the CPEC on land, maritime security was considered vital for the overall success of the project.

The Pakistan Navy has adopted a multipronged approach to deal with the prevailing challenges such as beefing up security of the Gwadar port, conducting security patrols and coastal exercises, enhancing maritime domain awareness and engaging with other law enforcement agencies, the statement said.

In this context, the navy has remained fully committed and geared up to provide conducive maritime environment for an uninterrupted flow of the maritime trade in the country’s exclusive economic zone, added the statement.

I am very happy, INSHAALLAH Gawadar port will bring wonders for Pakistan.

PA will have to protect CPEC all the way. PA will have to use armed drones to protect CPEC & watch the border.

Useless, not becoz you won't be successful ,but becoz we have invested in strategic oil reserves which in case of anything bad , will last 45 days. One is already ready and filled , other one is currently being filled by tankers coming from UAE. Third one will be completed soon and filled with oil from Iran.

Nothing is a permanent solution other than a pipeline. South Block needs pipelines and if it continues on their Chanakya brand of trrorism it will never attain the regional connectivity thats it needs to uplift itself.

GWADAR: With aircrafts, vessels, drones and warships, the Pakistan Navy is providing security to ships of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) leaving Gwadar port.

Pakistan Navy is according high priority to the security of maritime components of CPEC like Gwadar Port, its approaches and the sea lanes leading to and from the port, said a a press release issued by Pakistan Navy.

Subsequent to formal inauguration of Gwadar port, the cargo shipment set off from Gwadar Port under the protection of Pakistan Navy ships, it said.

The Pilot project of CPEC successfully kicked off when the first ever cargo containers arrived from Kashgar to Gwadar.

The cargo containers were subsequently exported to Middle East and African countries through MV COSCO WILLINGTON and MV AL HUSSEIN.

Pakistan Navy, being cognizant of its responsibility to make the maritime component of CPEC and Gwadar Port safe, deployed its ships and aircraft to provide security cover so as to ensure safe and secure transit of MV COSCO WILLINGTON and MV AL HUSSEIN in International waters.

The China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project with investment of worth US$ 46 billion, and Gwadar Port as it is a game changer and manifestation of strategic partnership between Pakistan and China.

The success of the CPEC and the Gwadar Port project is linked to the safe and secure maritime environment in the Indian Ocean region in general and in the Arabian Sea in particular.

With the operationalization of Gwadar port, the maritime traffic to and from Pakistani ports is expected to increase manifold. Therefore, while providing security to CPEC on land, maritime prong security is considered vital for overall success of the project.

Some one said that they will blockade our oil in case of conflict thus bring India down , I replied telling that fellow the realities, then a half wit comes up with vague sentences, to which I just demand clarification , is this out of topic?
