First Scorpene Submarine by 2015

Apples and oranges dude.

Diesel electric subs equipped with AIP are super silent, specially when powered with fuel cells. Perfect role for Sub hunter or to sneak inside enemy territorial water to launch SLCMs.

Nuclear SSGNs equipped with 1,000-2,000km ranged SLCMs are the way to go buddy. Thats why US Navy never
inducts any AIP-based subs.

US never inducts Diesel Electric subs because their subs always operate at waters far away from their home, where they won't have the luxury to harbor and refuel.

Our case won't be similar to them. We need to strike a strategic balance between 5-8 SSBNs, 10 SSNs and 15-20 Diesel electric subs (atleast 10 with AIPs) in the coming 15-20 years.

^^ I think we will have mix of 5 SSBNs , 2 SSN (1 for each CBG), 24 conventional subs

We actually are going to procure 7 SSBNs, atleast 11 SSNs and upto 20 conventional subs.

By the next 20 years, India might operate about 4 ACs, if not more. SSN number should be more than 10, 2 for each ACs.

I think when 4th and 5th SSBNs are inducted, 3rd and 4th SSBN (Arihant Class SSBNs) will be converted to SSGNs, armed with Nirbhay SLCM.

This makes sense as Arihant class subs weigh 6000 tons and can carry only 12 K 15s or $ K 4s while we need SSBNs which can carry at least 8 to 10 K 4 SLBMs or mix of 6 K 4s and 4 K 6s

Half of the conventional subs will retire before 3rd SSBN makes its way in IN.
And how do you come to the figure 7 for SSBN ??? Second project with 4 ???

Our Sub fleet will be dangerously low if new sub isn't selected in 1/2 years.

In one of your previous posts, installing API in sub required to cut it open which is a costly afair. And even for second part of the order API is not finalise. So it's almost sure that our Scorpenes will never get AIP

How and why ???

India won't have more than 3 ACCs in next two decades.
Vikidi , IAC-1 and IAC-2. Later two will need 4/8 years to join IN

Ok, they're planning 6 Khooni class SSNs in the initial stage. Much inline with my estimates.

but my only wish is they have to finish with atleast this timeline. look at AC timeline. its too long. but destroyers, frigates and corvettes are ok but less number only.

The Type-209 SSKs will be fitted with Stirling AIPs and retained. Another 4 Scorpenes couuld be
built to replace the 4 Kilo-class SSKs.

We're building 4 Arihants, not 3 (S 1-4). And atleast 3 S-5 type SSBNs.

If we have the needed infrastructure for the sub in question, installing AIP in subs will be feasible, but
however costly.

You got something for Bolded part ??? As far as I know that thing never materialise.

I read somewhere that only 3 Arihant class will make to service. First one will always remain as Tech demonstrator and for testing. Correct me if I am wrong.

How it will be feasible to install AIP in subs ??? We don't have AIP. I don't trust DRDO till they came with one. Not before that. (And Unfortunatly I am reading this from 4/5 years)

Still this didn't explain how the disel-elc sub will be 20 in numbers ???
