Fire in LDA plaza, 9 floor building.

One fire ladder busy in extinguishing fire.

Around 20 people trapped on 9th floor and roof of building.

A UH-1H also on the spot, right now assessing the situation. It has no winch by the looks of it so how will they get the people out of there?

Helicopter slowly getting very near to the building and almost landed on it.

By the looks of it, there seems to be enough space for a landing on the roof, although telecom towers can be trouble.

Hope all ends well.

LAHORE A person fell off the seventh floor of the LDA plaza situated on Lahore’s Edgerton road on Thursday trying to avoid a fire that engulfed the 13-storey building, DawnNews reported.

The building caught fire on Thursday and quickly intensified spreading to three floors of the tall building.

Many other people were reportedly stranded on the building.

There were five people on 9th floor and 2 on roof. The people on roof extended some AC cables to the 9th floor and those 5 folks barely climbed up to the roof.

Now Rehman baba on TV and Gilani's son attacked so coverage finished of this fire, helicopter was just about to land when they finished broadcast.

I pray for their safety and hope no causality is Reported.

Government of Punjab helicopter now getting people down on the ground. The UH-1H didn't have any facility of winch or rope.

Still no winch though, the rope is hoisted from the cargo hoist of Mi-17 and people just grab on to it.

There are Bell-412's with winch at Rahwali base.

Now Army Mi-17 on the spot with a rope ladder...the crew chief has disembarked from the heli and is on the roof getting people on the heli.

Army helicopter back to rescue people from 9th floor, this will be tough as people are inside the building.

People from roof have been rescued.

First attempt failed, helicopter making another approach. Too much smoke on the area where people are trapped on 9th floor.

What makes things even more tough is:

1- There are telecom towers in that area

2- The people are stuck in a cavity on 9th floor which is covered.

2 people who jumped from 7th floor of the building have died.

The fire has been controlled now, it's the smoke which is creating problems.

Our media needs to be more responsible...all over the world news agencies broadcast these situations in a 5-10 second delay so that no gory scene is seen. But all the channels on media are showing two guys falling off the building again and again...this is totally unethical and especially painful for the families, seeing their loved ones fall off buildings like that.

Our media needs to learn something.

BTW, all people have been rescued now.

This incident exposed Shahbaz's good governance ...........
