Fincantieri Unveils the designs of the Qatari Navy's air defense cruisers

Qatar has confirmed an order of 7 vessels from Fincantieri ..
The deal consists of four air defense cruisers with a length of more than 100 meters.. And one LPD-Landing Platform Dock carrying radar platforms for air defense radars.. And 2 OPV - Offshore Patrol Vessel..

Air defense cruisers:

• Length 107 cm
• Width 14.7 m
• Weight 3250 tons
• Speed is 51 km / h
• Range 6000 km
• Endurance is 21 continuous days
• Crew 100
• One NH90 helicopter shed

Armament:

• Marine cannon 76 mm Leonardo
• ATER 30 missile defense
• Marlins 30 mm weapons station
• 8 Exocet MM40 Block III missile launchers
• A short-range air-defense missile launcher Ram (21 nozzle) from Raytheon
• 4 launchers to protect the ship from missiles
• Kronos main radar

This is a 3250 tons ship.. if Iran calls a 1400 tons ship a frigate.. than Qatar can call this one a cruiser..
On a serious note though, there are different standards in the world.. but this is a frigate not a cruiser and not a corvette either..

In any case the NH-90 Helicopter on board carries the MU-90 torpedo.. and towed sonar.. but I really doubt that any kind of warship won't carry a sonar and torpedoes even if it is AAW dedicated..
